Tutorial Installing rxTools 9.2.0-20 w/ Unlinking - Updating - Online Access

Hey, thanks for your help. I wasn't able to follow your guide exactly, but I have my emuNAND @ 10.3 and sysNAND @ 9.2. As of lately, I have been able to successfully run GBA games after installing the .cia on both NANDs.

What safety measures/precautions do I take now to keep my system working as stable as it is now?
1) Can I update software or access eShop on emuNAND? (Last time, I updated Pokemon Bank software through eShop and encountered an "incorrect save data error", ended up losing everything)
2) Can I update my retail cart data through eShop/internet without screwing up my emuNAND?
3) What's this rumor about sleep mode? I can't put my 3DS in sleep mode anymore after CFW? I can't find where I read it, I just remember reading it among the thousands of threads I've combed through so far.

Thanks again for your help and your guide! You people on this forum deserve more for making all possible.

Question 1+2: Everything should be fine I update my stuff all the time through eShop.
Question 3: No, You can do everything as if there was no CFW. Sleep mode is fine.

I can't seem to get into the eStore I always get an error.

But it isn't connecting NNID it's just accessing the eStore I've connected to my NNID just fine

The window about NNID closes and says an error on eShop but trust me its because of your NNID I had your issue along with another user on this thread and the Troubleshooter fix sorts it. Just try it trust me

Okay I got it working

EDIT: So if I install a game with a CIA and can I just download the update from the eStore?

EDIT: The answer is yes, I just tried it.

II-B - Homebrew Usage;
To open Homebrew using the Modified Boot.3dsx Hold "L" while you turn on your 3DS;
To open SysNAND using the Modified Boot.3dsx Hold "R" while you turn on your 3DS;
To open EmuNAND using the Modified Boot.3dsx dont hold anything while you turn on your 3DS;

this file Boot.3dsx has the same function as coldboot?

Yes its CTR Boot Manager or something like that I cant remember.

I actually tried that and it didn't work, maybe I did something wrong but we got it working in the end anyway.

Also, will formatting the system make it try to update its firmware automatically?

Did you boot in sysNAND and launched the site ? I'm stuck at the red/black screen, and the troubleshooter in the first post doesn't help.

Yeah we launched the site on sysNAND and it seemed to work well.

Hi all, been having some trouble setting this up whilst following this guide
After the first boot of rxtools that setups the files, I did not make it into the home menu.
I encountered a slowly flashing red bottom screen.
I launched rxtools with the homebrew loader via menuhax and injected my region's files.
However the health & safety app did not change at all.
I cannot boot into emunand when turning on the console whilst pressing nothing, it will go to the haywire screen and then start slowly flashing red on the bottom screen.
I'm not sure if my emunand and sysnand are separated(they are unlinked though), as changing the theme on one of them will bring the same result onto the other.

Any help would be appreciated, I've tried the troubleshooting tips however I've had no success with them. I have also tried three clean installs. Cheers.

Not 100% sure on ways to back them up but if you wish to have your whole system backed up before you start, Go into the EmuNAND9 Tool, Go into EmuNand Manager and click on Dump SysNAND to NAND.bin then if you find a way to back them up you can just go back into EmuNAND9 and Import the NAND.bin to SysNAND (It will fuck over a bit of your emunand like linking etc but ehh)

Yes. All cia's let you play online just depends what headers they use. But legit cias always work online.

You arent unlinked. The theme being changed on EmuNAND shouldnt bring the changes to SysNAND.
Unlink then try again. If it still does the Red and Black screen check the troubleshooter. If it doesnt help then you skipped along a step here or there.

I don't know if this is an issue or if I missed something. On chapter V, I injected FBI with correct region. I then boot into emuNAND, but the H&S app doesn't say "FBI", BUT when I go to the settings, it says "RX-S". Did I missed something or do I keep going ?

No no, When I meant its supposed to say "FBI" I mean it should say FBI when you go into H&S, Try opening it and you will see. And yes your doing fine keep going.

Oops, I should have been more specific, I launched the app but it doesn't say anything, it's just the regular H&S. I tried to re-install FBI thtough rxTools but I have the same result. Do I try to unlink NANDs then try to launch H&S ? Thanks for the help !

When you were injecting did you inject it into SysNAND or EmuNAND. Its meant to be injected into EmuNAND.
