Hello!
I've bought a modded nintendo switch a few weeks ago, everything has been working greatly so far.

I've been using CFW on sysnand to ONLY edit savefiles into a "legitimate" way, such as , creating legal pokemon, or giving myself gold on animal crossing so i could help out friends / partner.
I activated exosphere on sysnand as well, since someone suggested it to me, but afterwards decided to remove it.

My emuNAND which is the "dirty" part where i would install .nsps never went online.

My question is, since i haven't found anything really clear:

Should i actually run exosphere on sysNAND aswell?
How big are the odds of getting banned, more or less, considering there's countless of people editing savefiles only on their sysNAND?

Wishing you lovely people great holidays,
hope to hear from you soon :)

Exosphere does 2 things:

1) spoofs DNS and prevents your machine from talking to Ninty
2) blanks out your ID in prodinfo so in the case your machine does talk to Ninty it will be unknown and won’t communicate properly.

Going online without exosphere (or equivalent methodologies) allows both scenarios to potentially happen. Using exosphere is highly recommended.

The “science“ behind whether or not this will result in a ban is unclear. It’s all on a gradient scale. The more you color outside the lines the higher your risk. You’ve absolutely colored outside the lines a bit here and have introduced some amount of risk. Enough to get you banned? Time will tell.

edit: we do know that installing nsp is almost certainly a ban so it’s good that you’ve kept that separate. Exeosphere will prevent you from going online at all so you can’t use it and play with friends at the same time. I would recommend you do all your editing and such on emunand with exosphere in place and cross the files over to your clean sysnand without exosphere to play online.

So you're saying i should put exosphere back on on my sysnand as well?
To add that "extra" layer of protection that is

Is it even possible to transfer files from emu to sysnand? I knew that emu saves are for that nand, and so it's for sys

I was told that if my savefile is on sysnand i can only take it out from sysnand with jksv, and doing save transfers across nands is a bit sketchy.

People told me as long as i don't pirate i "should" be fine.

I was paranoid so at some point i put exosphere on sysnand as well, but wasn't aware it interrupts online play. I saw my serial getting blanked to XAW00000000 and i was like, okay, cool. I think pokemon allowed me to connect through internet as well? Unless i did something wrong, i don't know.

You can inject saves into sysNAND but it's more effort that way.

I would say no, don't use PRODINFO blanking on sysNAND because it's not certain if the spoofed/blanked PRODINFO is logged and that info could be sent to Nintendo once the console is allowed to go online again (like when you boot OFW to play online or download updates)
90DNS/DNS spoofing is fine although like the person above, I don't recommend running Atmosphere on sysNAND as there is a possible risk of a ban even if the risk is small.

‘should be’ is a fair statement. You shouldn’t be connecting online with exosphere in place. (see edit above). I’d be surprised if they allowed you to actually connect with a blank prodinfo.

JKSV will do the xfer.
I just saw this, but since you boot CFW and JKSV on sysnand anyways to restore, it's the same thing at the end of the day :D
If it's just, back up sysnand, edit save from there, and restore nand, yeah i might actually take the ban in that case XD It's way too much effort

Alright, i'll keep exosphere off for sysnand then. I didn't use to have it on, but turned it on cause i was paranoid, but then felt it was wrong and turned it back off XD

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
