Tutorial  Updated

Improve menuhax boot rate to nearly 100%

Hello guys I found a very useful guide from star_storm (all credits go to him) that works for those who have a 9.2 SysNAND (no matter which emuNAND version), I tested it and it works pretty great (no more black when exiting SSB or system settings), so here is the tutorial taken from Reddit:

1) Download this file:http://www.mediafire.com/download/nmz771n1gb97ak7/Themehax_Installer_offline_v1.2.zip

2) Copy it to your SD card

3) Boot it in HomebrewLauncher

4) Install (make sure you are using themehax manager)

5) Connect to your PC and copy "menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin" from your sd card

6) Install homemenuhax like normal again (with menuhax manager).

7) Reconnect SD to PC and look for the new menuhax payload (the one with a lot of numbers)

8) Copy the name of the file and rename "menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin" from earlier to the new file name

9) Replace the file on your SD card with the renamed payload on your PC.

10) Observe boot rates nearing 100% :P

EDIT: Thread can be deleted as it has just been posted by star_storm

The problem lies with gateway launcher, until GW find out how to improve their boot rate (without degrading it in some combinations of hardware) the boot rate will be low at some hardware (between 6 units I have at home the original 3ds small have the lowest boot rate, around 60%)
but i have the same issue with RX tool, no GW launcher

All those exploits aren't able to work 100% of times. Sometimes it'll be menuHax payload that will get stuck (specially if you get stuck within the yellow or red bottom screens), sometimes it'll be rxTools routine (if it happens after the rxTools splash screen or with a glitched rxTools splash). And sometimes it'll be gateway launcher fault (actually it have the lower boot rate of the 3) when you get past the colored bottom screens and get stuck.
AFAIK (and I know little about it) we can only change the payload for menuhax, to try to increase its boot rate. I dunno about fixes to rxTools that we can do on our side.
And finally, about GW boot rate there's nothing we can do, it's all on GW's side, and as I've said, they always had poor boot rates on some hardware combinations.

The kernel exploits aren't 100% stable. That's why the CFWs sometimes fail to boot (one of the kernel exploits didn't succeed)

I've modified the source on the hax2.5 web site to automatically rename ropbin payloads to filenames ready to place on your sd card. These ropbins are recently compiled so they boot near 100%.

Directions: just open 3ds-gh-pages/index.html and click on "Download ropbin" just like you normally would. The files actually "download" from within the local directory on your computer using relative filepaths. (this works up to 10.3)
