Hardware I'm having one weird issue with my wii u's microphone

I'll start first off saying that my wii u has haxchi and it's running on 5.5.2 U. My issue is that for some random reason the microphone from my gamepad isn't being recognized by the console. (I'm using the configuration tool to try it as well as games like wii party u and nintendoland.) I tried already my gamepad on a friend's wii u and it's being recognized so I'm not sure if I have to format my console or this is a rare bug and I should change it or whatever.
Has anyone ever heard of something similar to my experience?

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
