It would be incredibly expensive. Nintendo gets the parts for joycons, at the price they do, because they are making millions. A third party would be producing 10k at best, and that would be a gamble, even for someone like Nyko. They would get no where near the discount Nintendo does for the manufacturing process, parts, labor, etc. So at best, you might get a 3rd party option that would be the same price, or even more expensive than the official Nintendo version.

Even though Nintendo themselves did file for patents and were granted them. I know some company is either taking Nintendo to court, or alleging that they stole their design when it comes to the console/joycons. The pro controller I don't think Nintendo has a patent for. I don't think they are allowed to patent it when it has a basic shape, which has been used for quite some time now.

If somebody will produce it, then it'll have some defects like those third party controllers - for example lack of motion-controls. If third party make their Joy-Con with identical features, they will cost 10$ less then official, so there's not much profit for the scumbags.

Same thing, but I learned how to write with the right hand so in the super rare occasions I have to write stuff without a keyboard I use the right one
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
I use my phone and iPad with my left though, I don't really pay attention to other stuff
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
I used both when I used to play tennis, I used to switch between the right and left at random times and the teachers always got mad at me for that lmao
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
    I wonder why
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Because it makes it harder for the others.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
It's not so common and people aren't so exposed to it. Back when I had tennis classes the teachers used me as an example of sorts and had others play me to get used to the lefties.
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
You mean for the opponents? Isn't throwing the opponent off guard a good thing though?
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
I guess some people would consider it cheating but I think that's totally legit, like what's the reason in playing if you can't even customize your play style a bit
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Some people are a bit too strict with what they consider cheating imho
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Well, it is allowed to change hands in tennis.
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
    Wait really?
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    even during points
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Huh. It was probably just a them thing then
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Well someone maybe going to small claims court insurance is trying to get out of paying for work stating they only paid certain codes as my frequency met lmao
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
It always happened whenever I had to hit a backhand. I just passed the racket to my left hand and hit the ball like normal, it's way more comfortable and faster than trying to hit the ball with your right arm
  • _Ruri_ @ _Ruri_:
Like why should I turn my right arm in weird ways when I can just use the other arm to hit the ball
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Dr Dre turned 60 today don't get beats by grandpa
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Dre is 60?
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Damn...
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Well he was running from the cops since the 80s and 90s
