Hey guys. I have just installed preloader 0.29 on my wii then installed;

0000000100000002-NUS-v418.wad (well tried to and it came back with an error)
0000000100000024-NUS-v1042

When I tried Wii sports resort, it didnt work, so I thought ok uninstall those 2 wads.

I uninstalled them and now when I turn on my wii, the drive looks for a disc and then stops. I dont get a picture, preloader doesnt appear, have I bricked it?

Is there a way to recover it? please help me asap

good grief, he's removed his system menu and IOS i bet, goodbye wii :/
Those wads contain IOS2 and IOS36
Not used by system menu

So, just a black screen, thats it?
And was it preloader not loading or installing the wads didn't work?

Well the first wad didnt install right, it got some part of way the through then came back with an error.

The Second wad installed fine. After finding out they didnt make a difference I decided to uninstall it and now I just get a black screen

Um, IOS2 is the system menu itself...Uninstalling your system menu breaks preloader and bricks the wii. A black screen is a classic symptom of a missing/damaged system menu.

IOS36 isn't relevant to the black screen, although games and some channels do need it.

can I ask why anyone would ever un-install IOS'? Especially in order to get something to work? It seems to be the norm around here and everytime it bricks the wii.

Good luck to you bro, but it looks like you're S.O.L.

Hey you're right. I checked it in the title database...
No wonder it doesn't work

Well, there was a case where I was trying to create an offline method to trucha patch IOS60 and 61 wads so I could have a way to upgrade a wii to 4.0 safely without using its internet access.

During this process, I messed up the wads a few times so I just uninstalled them. It's safe to do if you have nothing important like the system menu that depends on it. (Although I never did get it working right. I now suspect that it's due to do NUSD created wads not working correctly, as the wwpacker freethebug script seems to only act up on wads from NUSD, and works just fine on ones ripped from a game disc using Wii Scrubber.
