Hacking I have an itch to get a 3DS, Advice!!!

I've got a DSi. For some reason, I want to get a 3DS. I don't know why myself, there's no games coming out I want or anything. But I want it. I've found some stuff in my closet I can trade in to help mitigate the cost, but I'm going to be using it mainly with my Acekard 2i.

I don't plan on visiting the shop often, though if I get it soon enough I'll take Excitebike for free, and I'll take Zelda Four Sword when it comes out, etc. So most of the time, I'll not be connected to the internet. And I'll only update if I know it's safe.

But, is it safe? Is it really going to tell Nintendo I played Danny Phantom for nine hours without them going "hmmm". Does the 3DS use the joystick slider for DS games or do I have to use the D-Pad? Is the joystick slider good? I've only gotten to use a 3DS on awkward, stuck to the wall angles so I don't know.

I know the Acekard 2i works on it for now, so it'd be another system update to block it if they are going to block it. Can the guys at Acekard unblock it, maybe? That may be one too many hypothetical though.

So.. is it safe? Is now as good a time to buy as any? Does it look sharp? I know it's a dark system but my 3DS is black. Is it a matte finish? DO I WANT ONE?! SOMEONE HELP ME!!

i only have a flashcard for the features
all games i play on it i either buy
or play because lack of region release
but theres been announcements for JRPG's for Eur so im happy

I have to say, some games (I tried Mario Kart and Pokemon White) looked better after the 2.00 update than before. Making them look very similar to the DSi.

I actually have a 3DS, and I've been telling people to not bother getting one if they already have a DSi. I've also said that the 3D effect is a gimmick in most of the existing titles.

Don't get one until the price comes down. Currently, it's just not worth the $250 USD. I bought one but it sits and gathers dust. The titles out there are awful!

Well, you can get a 3DS and be satisfied with the eShop, but chances are... that's not gonna happen. You should wait for AAA titles (like OoT) or just go ahead and get a PSV when it releases.

I bought one for the same reasons as you want to. What a waste of money. There are no good games yet and my DS games look like trash on it. I'm a quality critic so AFTER getting a 3DS, I bought a DSi. (Started with DS Phat, then to 3DS, then to DSi). The 3DS has been sitting here collecting dust.

I really want to get rid of it, but then they had to go and announce Smash Bros 3DS...

So it'll be collecting dust for 3+ years.

I'm going to wait. No games, too much money, not hacked, waiting for better colors. I'm in the same boat o nthe 3ds as I was on the PSPgo. $250 was way too much to I waited and picked one up for $100.

I'd have to say get one. I have a DSL, DSI XL, and 3DS. I rarely use my DSL anymore, I love the big screen on my DSI XL, And the 3DS has just been a lot of fun from the internal games, to the street pass, I carrry it with me all the time, to the games. (Except the game Dream Trigger***SUCKS***) Returned it first day I got it and replaced it with Pirates of the Carribean 3D. I have 8 games for the 3DS and more for the others. I really just enjoy it.

I wouldn't recommend buying one. I own one and never play it. The games are awful (Zelda will change that but honestly you can play Zelda on the Wii for much cheaper). The battery life is bad, the eshop is mostly useless and has little content.
