I hate how bland and lifeless the Switch UI feels

The switch has no menu music, is too simplified, and just feels lifeless. The Gamecube menu captured that early 2000s feel, The Wii Menu felt like a TV, The Wii U menu felt very calming to me, but the switch is just all simplified. I just hate it. The same can be said about the Xbox consoles. The OG Xbox and 360 feel so great, but the One and Series consoles feel so bland.

I mean i do play games on it, but it’s not as fun to mess around in the menus than it was back then.

A small tradeoff for better performance. The charm of the old systems is still there in a way. Fun sounds!

I was only half messing!! I actually agree with you however the above comment is very true.

Yeah the wii u has a nice ui however it took an eternity to load and these little things affect performance. I love a good looking ui as much as the next person however I would happily trade it for a simple text list if it wasn't affecting any other section of the device such as ram or even just the storage for it. Code better put elsewhere imo!

Are there any other themes available for switch and if so are they just simple texture edits or full redesigns? I've never looked.
