The leaked games are version "0" since they're converted from rom dumps, the official eshop Sun and Moon "versions" are 16 and 32, it's just something technical but I think it's better to re-install from freeshop.

Basically... they are now making real on what they could've done in DS days already.

I'm not surprised. It is their good right.
You cannot expect a service for free when you didn't even payed a part of the server cost (probably included in the new game price).
It's a wonder they even took the time to reply you...

Except for the people who, yknow, preordered on the e-shop like me. Technically i deserve the ban, because running unauthorised code violates nintendo's ToS. But it still kinda sucks i got banned for a game i paid for (twice, sun and moon). I'm not saying its unfair, its very fair. But 120 euros man.. And the support guy was extremely rude to me.

Patience is a virtue, so they say.

It's one thing to play a pirated copy - but playing it online before release? No wonder why Nintendo ripped those Pokeballs off. Your Digletts will never evolve again.

I always wondered if a .3ds game converted to .cia was the same as the original eshop game...

That's why i always prefer to install Legit CIA's when i can, and i'm waiting for Pokemon Sun/Moon Legit CIA to be uploaded before starting to play it!

Played the leak offline, copied my save, uninstalled leak, installed release, and injected my save. Works fine and I don't get perma-banned ;)

How do you completely remove the leaked version? I've also played it offline and I've already exported the save file.

Nintendo of America: HUEHUE You're using something that isn't right and we can't tell you the result! HUEHUE

Nintendo of Germany: You were using an illegal copy before the game was even released, and because of that, the ban is permanent. I'm sorry, but that's how things go around here.

Nintendo of Germany rules!

In that case... it might pay to kindly remind them that you bought it.
Perhaps your friend "tinkered with your 3DS while you were away" ?

I can only imagine that this might calm them, since if one has payed for a product there is no more justification for em to uphold the ban (it's probably just some blacklist on their servers anyways)

NOTE: I'm banned (lol pun intented) to see if they will ban cheaters aswell...
Those ruined Metroid Prime Hunters back in the days, and I would want to see them act accordingly this time.
(Sun/Moon is probably one of the only new games worth playing online eitherhow...)

At least they do, can't say the same for the country itself :P

I did this, the support guy didn't care and started saying pretty rude stuff. I should've recorded the conversation...
The ban is/was justified for only violating their terms of service, but i can't help to feel like they stole 120 euros (because pokemon moon was the only CIA installed). I know my case is pretty unusual, and most people who got banned are full-out pirates with other cia's installed. Nintendo just lost a customer (Not that they will notice/care lmao)

Then tell them that. Also don't forgot to show them the cartridge and maybe the bill that you got from it. However if they already checked your 3ds and don't lift ban then you used the one of the prerelease versions since nintendo can see that.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying

yes looks like an faulty sd
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
@Psionic Roshambo i may try that with my dead sd cards

@The Real Jdbye, I considered that, but i'll have to wait until i can get the eu version in the mail lol
