How to install eShop games with SX OS

I am NOT responsible if you get banned or somehow mange to brick your switch

Prerequisites
  • Have a working SX OS licenses and have it set up
  • Have a copy of devmenu (I can't link to this here you'll have to find it yourself)
  • A micro SD card
  • OPTIONAL put your switch into airplane mode before doing this

Part One: Setting up your SD card

Plug your SD card into your PC. Create a folder called sxos, then create a folder inside of that and name it titles. Once you have done that create another folder and name it with the title ID for the game you plan on layeredfs-ing.

In my case it's Pokémon Quest so my file structure looks like this sxos\titles\01005D100807A000. Now put the romfs and exefs for devmenu in that folder. (I'm assuming that the copy of devmenu you have is already in layeredfs format.)
Finally put the NSP for the game you plan on installing on the root of your SD card.
At this point your SD card should look something like this
sx.PNG

Part Two:Installing the NSP

Boot into SX OS and choose "Boot custom FW". Launch the donner title that you are using (again in my case Pokemon Quest)

You should see this come up on your screen.

Select the install from SD option. The NSP you have should now appear on screen, press A to start the installation.

You can choose either install to SD or system memory. After selecting that press A one again.

The NSP should now start installing.

Wait a few minutes and the install should finish

It is now safe to go back to the home menu and close out of devmenu
2018070319134300-57B4628D2267231D57E0FC1078C0596D.jpg

After closing out of devmenu your new game should show up

Enjoy!

Quick question. These games are running beautifully, is there any way to receive a DCMA letter from your service provider from downloading through CDNSP? I don’t download torrents for that reason and want to make sure that this program is safe from a copywrite letter.

While highly unlikely I guess it could happen. If you're that worried about it I would recommend getting a decent VPN and, I would also recommend using PIA if you do decide to get a VPN.

Have anyone managed to install devmenu without eshop games, over bayonetta 1?
I've tried it with layered fs files from team xecuter, switch complains about "broken" files. =(

PS
I'm on 4.1.0 to which I got using "No fuse burning" guide

wait, do you need to be on the latest fw for devmenu to work, or do fw like 4.1 also work?

DevMenu via Atmosphere works as low as 4.1. DevMenu via SX OS works only on 5.1. This difference is due to how they support LayeredFS which is what is needed to run DevMenu right now.
ah that explains why i wasnt able to run devmenu with sxos, since im on 4.1

works like a champ. kids are gunna be upset that im using quest as a donor but Bloodstained - Curse of the Moon works very well....... (hopefully no ban.....no ban..... and stop.....)(knocks on wood)
Bloodstained is THE REASON I want to do this method. I purchased that game on Steam, and since I am getting a Switch soon with Pokemon Quest already installed (as well as Mario Kart 8, Fortnite, and Splatoon 2), I want it on the go.

I have a genuine 256gb SanDisk Ultra that I took out of my Nvidia Shield Portable to use on my Switch. Should that work with no issues? Can I install any eShop game to SD, and is it better to install to the Switch internal memory instead?

I've got a "Failed to install the nsp file. (result: 0x00014005)" error when I tried to install games through atmosphere. I installed sx os and followed this guide but devmenu doesn't start at all. Instead pokequest runs normally.

as of now, SX OS is more stable than atmosphere in installing NSP. tried a couple games and all are installing fine on SX. another story on the other.
make sure you are using SX OS 1.3 and you have the correct files on your sd card. follow the tutorial that you can find here.
and yes, you need the license to do that.

Atmosphere doesn't support sigpatches yet. You have to do it via SX OS. Like the other guy said, make sure devmenu is in the sxos folder, you have the right title ID, and that your licence is valid l.

I know this has probably been asked to death.
I want to minimize ban chances as much as possible.

I have sx os, before running it i removed my internet settings and dumped my rawnand.
if i install nsp files offline, never go online, and then in the future restore my nand, will there be any traces left?

Do i need to dump the boot files, as i only have my 29.1gb rawnand, or is it too late now ive already ran xcis on sxos

Anyone figure out a way to get exfat cards working? I have tried everything I could find online and only fat32 seems to work.

"Failed to install the nsp file. (result: 0x00000202)" when trying to install a 1.4go Zelda BOTW dlc.

I can install all DLCs, Zelda or other games, except for this one.

Not sure why.

Pokemon Quest keeps launching, i've tried 3 devmenus and still nothing happens. When I boot up, it says I have to update the console to use the SDXC. Should I do this?

EDIT: NVM, I updated it, all good now
