I confirm with Windows method on my 3 handheld :
- 2DS with 9.2 : OK
- 3DS with 7.x : OK
- 3DS XL with 9.4 : NOK (I tried attwifi and NZ@McD1

I ran the maccheck.cmd and I got something like 000000010000000, then I attempted to run:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
but it doesn't work anymore...!!!!

interesting. my windows 8.1 wont change the mac address but when i try on my sister's computer running windows 7, it changes without a problem. Guess i gotta use windows 7

is there a way to fix the windows 8.1 problem? i dont want to rely on someone else's computer its already a pain reinstalling an os when you use a SSD and HDD (if not ill just find some spare time to install it)

So wifi as attifi, and no security only mac filter is fine then? How is this new script working? Should it show up fine when not connected to the internet? as in does it get a list of mac addresses from the net before it is able to do its thing? I've tried to install the new mac script and nothing seems to change. I remember having to do something before, before it worked for me, did the stopservice cron and startservice, no success. Did a manual */5 * * * * root /tmp/nzone and nothing either. Not sure how your script works as I even try to open it on vi and it seems to not show anything. Very confused.

For dd-wrt everything is working with no access point security for any 3ds firmware version. Guide on page 10 is up to date for dd-wrt.

I still can't actually get it to work though. Must have spent a good 3-4 hours in total playing around with it. Following the past history, even tried v2 with no success, it just remains its own mac address forever.

One question duke_srg, I'm trying now the script for linux (http://nintendozone.no-ip.org/install) under Ubuntu 14.04 and I'm facing one problem at the moment, when it reloads itself the ap stops showing. I've modified the wlan0_hostap.conf file in order to use WPA (you know, wpa=2 or 3 and other options) and I've modified just the var SPDELAY to 3000 to increase the delay. If I use "/usr/local/sbin/nzone status" it says it's running, but after a few seconds it still says it's running but it doesn't work.

Here's an output from syslog:

I'm running nzone.exe on base 256, my 2DS recognizes the hosted network (the streetpass sign on the HOME menu shows up) but no MAC change so far

I tried the new nzone.exe. My MAC used to cycle with the old script. Now it does not. :x
I'm on Windows 8.1 like the others that have the issue. I hope this will be fixed soon. D:

Hi,

I would like to know how can I check if my wlan0 has successfully changed Mac address. I want to make sure my homepass works and it's just the lack of people in homepass that may explain why I ain't got any streetpassers. Because it seems to work as far as I'm concerned. Running method 1 (thx duke for your script btw) on my debian netbook used as server. Despite I had to manually give the ip@, mask and gateway on my 3ds.

Also is there an unix command for netsh wlan show hostednetwork ?

Just toggle ICS check mark several times and leave it unchecked, then run
netsh wlan set hostednetwork disallow
Then try to run maccheck.cmd.
If you have installed any wirtual router software, remove it before. If you tried nzone.vbs or nzone.exe method, check the scheduled tasks and disable nzone task if any.
