upgrade process of M3i zero:
============================
(From zero to infinity)

i) For the first time of upgrading:
-----------------------------------

Step 1: Copy files

Format TF(micro-SD card) first.
Copy the "system" folder and the "f_core.dat" file into the root directory of Micro SD.

Step 2: Plug cable in

Insert the thin cable part of the power supply cable into the power socket of the M3i. And insert the USB plug into the USB socket of the computer. If everything going right, the LED inside the M3i will start blinking. The LED will blink for about 30 sec and then turn off (it indicate that the process is completed).

note:
LED blinks - in progress
LED lights off - no power or complete
LED lights on - error (no "f_core.dat" or wrong file etc.)

*** Usually users may only need to do this step one time only as the data of "f_core.dat" is not necessary to be upgraded frequently.

Step 3: Plug & Play
Just insert the M3i into DS, DSl or DSi console and enjoy it.
*(Users may also copy the games, media files or homebrew softwares onto Micro SD card too.)

ii) For users who have been upgraded the data of "f_core.dat":
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Copy files

Copy or replace the "system" folder at the root directory of the Micro SD.
*(Users may also copy the games, media files or homebrew softwares onto Micro SD card too.)

Step 2: Plug & Play
Just insert the M3i into DS,DSl or DSi console and enjoy it.

Review by iwakura and read iwakura's review if you wonder how to plug in the cable :- http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=167833

Do you really need to format the micro SD, can't you just put the f_core.dat onto your previous M3 REAL micro and start the flashing?.

same here.. i didn't even format~! just drag the firmware (sakura,m3) and the f_core.dat into the root of my SD card
after that, follow the instruction

it is a very simple and short process

would the M3i Zero work on a DSLite without flashing it with f_core.dat? or it is a must for it to work on any versions of DS?

Its a must. Its ships as a blank card. So to use it on any DS/DSL/DSI, it has to be flashed.

I presume M3 have done this is order to get past over zealous custom checks in certain countries.
The card holds no data that may infringe copyright laws, unlike some other DSi compatible cards. *cough* DSTTi *cough*

Well if i were you, i would've formatted my micro sd first, just in case the file system was like corrupted or something.

Just use windows' repair thing that pops up when you plug the reader in. Worked perfectly for fixing mine.

Sakura swore at me first attempt, plugged it into windows, did repair, then it worked perfectly.
