often
especially if the cheats give me something that I would get anyway if I spend an inordinate amount of time (i.e. grinding). I figured since I'll get them eventually if I put in enough time and no real skill is involved, might as well cut the wait short.

1. If I cheat during progress it's of sole curiosity, done for a short amount of time, and I never save.
2. I cheat after having finished a game if it's fun, like moonjumping in SM64.
3. I avoid using guides as much as possible, unless I'm VERY pissed at not getting past something(trying for 2-3 days like mad), finished the game and wanna get all the secrets, or I sense a split event approaching that could later prevent me from getting important content, such as rare items or good ending scenarios.

And this isn't just with DS games, it's with all games.

the reason i cheat is because... i want to save my time from level up, exploring, collect item, quest.... so i can enjoy the story or game play ~!

conclusion... i cheat for all the games i play

I only cheat after I've legitimately beat an entire game. Then I'll turn on cheats (if I can) and go through again for fun. =D

When I was younger and was into video games a lot more I'd never cheat.

But now that I'm a bit older and I guess you can call me a casual gamer, i'd cheat just

as long as its not online.

Only game I 'cheated' on was Pokemon Diamond. Some Pokemon's that couldn't be obtained I hacked them into my save. With normal stats of course. (Also, non were legendary or something, just regular pokemon)

Next to that, I never cheat

When there's too much grinding. I think I use real time save more often. I find RTS decreases the difficulty/time spent, just about right. Some cheats makes the game too easy to be worthwhile playing.

This sounds weird, but "almost never".

The only games I use cheats on are Ouendan 1, 2 and EBA, and only the Autospin, since my screen is REALLY f'd up and it would be stupid of myself keep pushing it for pride alone. Plus, I've finished all the games already and keep my save with original scores elsewhere, so it's only for the hell of it.

i've never cheated on a DS game (on the PC, i did a few times), i preffer not to play it instead of cheating... besides, cheating on an RPG its lame if you ask me... and i play mostly RPGs and puzzle games.

Cheat? NEVER! Used to love cheating back in the days computers were running on DOS and Win95. Oh glorious dial-up!

Won't want to spoil the experience of a good game with cheats!

Never unless you consider rts cheating
I used m3 real firmware 4.0X to beat the true arena in kirby super star
It was just too hard ;__;
The only way to beat the true arena in one word:
Hammer
--------------

I use cheats only if a game (usually the last boss/level) is too hard and spent too much trying to beat it (FFXII:RW comes to mind)
and just want to see how the story ends.
