How come it's so easy to install B9S from an userland exploit now?

What exactly was discovered? You usually used *hax to load the homebrew launcher and then either used a tool to install hacked wifi configuration for use with USM or used FrogTool and Japanese Flipnote Studio to install B9S.

However, now you only need to use *hax and then it's basically one tap to get into SafeB9SInstaller. What changed? Did someone discover a new exploit? Was an existing exploit more streamlined?

Several new exploits, by the look of it, but the one of particular interest is nimdsphax: https://github.com/luigoalma/nimdsphax
Expect it to be patched in the next firmware update. Kernel exploits never last long. Nintendo are still updating the 3DS occasionally.
