I just installed this because a prompt on my homebrew channel asked to update. I had no clue it would disable the usage of my elf files.

How can I get back to .08?

Let me guess. Where it said "KEEP READING", you didn't keep reading.

Just install beta8 using the installer if you're so inclined.

So is this required if you have HBC already installed? Or will I need to update to this version b4 updating my firmware? (Of course I'm not gonna update my firmware until I know that HBC and the WAD installer/uninstallers works)

No, you can install it with the Twilight Hack.

Hi, yeah, total noob here when it comes to converting ELF to DOL. I tried everything, and still couldn't figure out how to do it. Is there any chance of someone writing a step-by-step noob tutorial that I can follow?

I tried using DolTool 0.3 on the 3 apps I wanted to convert: FTPii 0.0.14, WiiPhysics 2.2.0 & Wii Whiteboard R2, but DolTool only worked on FTPii.

I know on Hackmii it stated:

QUOTE said:
App authors should distribute DOL versions. If they don’t, tell them to. If they don’t, convert it yourself:

powerpc-gekko-objcopy -O binary boot.elf boot.dol

But I have no clue using Devkit.

Here's a quick tutorial using this file for the laymans:

1) Download the file above and extract it to a folder on your desktop. (Id give this folder a short name like ELF2DOL)
2) Place the ELF file you want to convert in the same folder
3) If ur using Windows, open up a command prompt (ie Windows XP: Go to Start, RUN and type CMD and click OK)
4) Navigate to the folder that has your application and ELF file (You can usually type [minus the quotation marks] "cd desktop" then "cd elf2dol". Your directory should show up something like this: X:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\ELF2DOL)
5) Then the command to type is: (Again, minus the quotation marks) "powerpc-gekko-objcopy -O binary boot.elf boot.dol"

If it worked, you should see the newly created boot.dol file in the folder that did not have one. Then you can just keep placing new ELF files in your ELF2DOL folder and using that same command to make new DOLs.

After using the tool above and replacing each elf with the equivalent dol file, all of the apps I converted are not showing up in the homebrew channel.
