Yeah, so, now we just have to figure out how to install the new cIOS over the update from Nintendo.

is the HBB a .elf file?

if so it states this in the update notes... current ELF applications will not work with this version (this is why we have been recommending the use
    of DOL files instead).

Beta9 would have been out a few days ago, but then Nintendo came up with the new October 23 update with perfect timing, so we had to make sure the beta9 installer was compatible (read: exploited a new bug nobody knew about until then).

Sounds like people who updated without having a cIOS installed should be completely out of the woods soon. [IMG]

So many updates lately I'm getting confused. Is it safe to get the official Oct 23rd firmware update yet?

    I have CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad installed.
    I have DVDX cIOS_249 installed.
I have the cIOS_249 v6 that was supposed to be installed before Backup Launcher 0.3 was run.
And now I have Homebrew Channel Beta 9 installed.

Am I safe to get the Oct 23rd update?

i thought that too, isnt it a hardware thing that determines SDHC or not?

thats the same for DS flashcarts, firmware updates cant make a flashcart read a SDHC card... would be useful for the dump iso to sd card though ha ha

    and @maxwell,
i take it you were listening to what i said lol

In the Wii, it's purely software, and I don't even know why Nintendo bothered to limit it. Licensing fees to the SD association maybe?

If you get any SDHC card with 2GB or less space left on it, it will work with the Wii anyway.

Should update through your wireless, start up HBC and let it connect to the net (icon will flash, and go static once connected) then you should get a prompt to update.
