Hacking Homebrew Channel beta 9 update available.

For no real reason I knocked up a NSIS script that uses powerpc-gekko-objcopy to recursively convert any boot.elf it finds to a dol version. It deletes the elf version for you too. (Aka place exe on root of sd card, run it, you're good to go.)

The Waninkoko's wad manager 1.21 works with Homebrew channel 0.9

Whoa, wait, I'm confused... Why do ELF files no longer work? Why on earth would they get rid of that compatibility?

The old ELF files are broken, and the only reason they loaded is because the loaders were broken.
So the Homebrew Channel was fixed so you can't use broken ELF files anymore.

The latest toolchains when they come out will hopefully create non-broken ELFs.

Yeah, I did. I just don't understand, they work just fine, why would they make them incompatible? Or is this because of the new Nintendo update?

Seems to just delete the elf for FCEU and Snes9x without making a dol.

SDHC support, and it is now a .dol for compatibility with HBC beta 9.

Awesome, FTPii is my most runned homebrew next to Snes9x and the backup launcher.

I thought those switched to DOLs forever ago.

Edit:Also I only tested my app on XP, there may be issues with vista since I don't have it and UAC sucks.

It runs on the best IOS it can run on.

I don't see much point on installing it on IOS254. Won't do much.
It won't force homebrew (which by default runs on IOS35) to run on IOS254.

And with cIOS updates, I usually delete IOS254 then reinstall cIOS. Which means it can run for that period and you'll need Twilight Hack to reinstall to a normal IOS then you can run cIOS Installer, then reinstall the HBC on IOS254. That would be bad and would have no positive effects.

Ah..yes. Newer versions. I was still using the ones from the Sticky: Homebrew channel apps site.

GCN memcard problem fixed? Saves me a tad bit of time from removing my cards so much.

New ELF loading thing? Argh.
GeckoOS now gives a "not a proper Wii application" error.
Guess I need to either wait for updates with that and other apps using the ELF format or convert them from ELF to DOL. Not too much of a problem but kinda tedious.

Also why is the classic controller so neglected?

Alot of nice features but gives a new problem along with it.
I'm happy enough with something that works though.
Course this one breaks all the ELF apps. Improper ELFs perhaps but did they have to disable the old ones completely? A simple "This ELF sucks!" warning messege would be fine.
