Better start training the rest of your party, you wont be able to float by with your starter only. Plus its more fun to train multiple pokemon anyways =D

On the contrary, I've beaten the two gyms that Grass pokemon have issues with - Bug and Flying. The rest are a piece of cake.

Yes but have fun with the Elite Four. you need a full party of high-levels for you to stand a chance with that

Doubt it...In Platinum, I soloed the Elite 4 with my level 80 Empoleon...

I was going to use Espeon and Mamoswine, until I noticed that I don't get an Eevee until Kanto, and Mamoswine is a douche who can't learn surf. Man I hate HM's. Those spots are now going to be taken by Tyranitar and Lugia.

The moves they have are fairly well balanced and I was able to pretty much take anything out in the game. They're a bit too weak still to take on Red though. They're only in the late 50's to early 60's in levels. If I need HM's that aren't fly or Surf I just take out my Red Gyarados (which is my HM slave most of the time), Geodude, Rattata, Sudowoodo, or Electrode (knows flash). I rarely need them now though.

Can anybody recommended a team? I've never played competitive but I plan to.
I need a play through party + a competitive. If you can please include move sets, and what to EV train.

you get eevee before the 4th gym once you talk to bill at the pokecenter go to goldenrod talk to him at his house and he gives you eevee lol
