Hacking Help with USB loader GX

HI all I am a noob to wii hacking

I managed to install the USB Loader GX channel, now when i connect my hard drive (which i formatted to FAT32) which is Seagate 80GB, it says no usb device detected, check for 30 seconds....
I tried using my Pen drive 4GB but no luck.

can some one point out the problem???

I keep on reading cIOSxxxxx every where, is there some thing to do with it?
If yes then please tell me what cIOS i would need to install and how would i Install that cIOS..????

Please help me...

What cIOS do you have? You need r9 or higher for usb loaders (you can find some in my sig)
And try both usb ports

use usb loader 1.1 and format it to WBFS

Bad advice.

1.1 has bugs (including the deletion bug, which when you delete games via usbloader, it causes all that were installed after to get corrupt)
Why on earth would you use such an outdated version?


anyway, for seagate drives, don't plug in the usb card untill it is counting down the 30 seconds. Its a known issue with seagate external drives.

also, you do need cIOS rev 9 at least installed.

I recommend Rev10, or Rev 13a.

I use a Seagate drive without issue. If Troy's solution doesn't work for you (it should work) try formatting it through WBFS Manager rather then through the loader. Plug it into your usb port before turning on the Wii and then boot your USB loader.
