Hacking Help R4 sdhc? Problem.

I thought I downloaded the right firmware but I cant tell because anytime I go to load the R4 sdhc and turn my DS on it says "cant find sd/tf card". Im using a kingston micro sd with 4gb and I did format it. But everytime I turn on my DS it always says "cant find sd/tf card" Please someone help me fix this. I know someone here has had this same problem. Thanks for any help you can give.

Check the box that came with your R4. Usually they have a site where you can download the appropriate firmware.

Thanks, and I have done that but for some reason it keeps saying "cant find sd/tf card" Do I need to use a certain kind of micro SD card. Because I think for some reason it seems just not to be reading the sd card but im not for sure. So someone please help.

What is SD Memory Card Formatter used for ?


This software is used to format SD Memory Cards so they are compliant with SD Memory Card standards.

If you have formatted the card using the PC's standard formatting program, make sure to reformat using SD format to take full advantage of maximum SD Memory Card performance.

This SD Memory Card formatting software is for the formatting of SD Memory Cards only. The formatting program will not function properly if you are not using a SD Memory Card.

What happens when I format an SD Memory Card with a standard PC formatting program ?

The SD host equipment may not be able to recognize the SD Memory Card. Writing data to the card may take longer than necessary and some functions may no longer work.

I believe the r4 SDHC is running on v1.18. There's a v1.25, but don't get that.

And yeah, you might want to check your box. I found it on there.
And also, notice that the back of the box doesn't say it's sdhc, that was probably what they told you, but I can't see mention of it being compatible with sdhc on the back of the box.

I have tried using a sandisk micro SD. How do I know if I have the right kernal for it? I tried version: 1.24v. I downloaded it and moved all the files straight to my SD card is that correct? I did format the micro SD card with out using windows and that didnt help. Is there anything else this really making me mad. Please help.

can you post images of the card you have and its box so we can determine which R4 you have or where it came from website etc details

have a read and see if your doing things right or if your cards in the list of R4/R4clones I listed
