Hacking Help pls with r4i on ds lite

Hey guys,

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Jay and i'm a total noob with the r4 etc. Okay, so let me tell you my problem.

My little brother got a DS lite with an R4i card(I think?). It worked perfectly because it was al pre-programmed for him. However my brother was trying to do some things himself on the card and now the card isn't working anymore. So he deleted everything (not a smart thing) and asked if i could fix it.

So that's my problem. I got a blanco R4i card and a DS lite and have no idea how to make it work. I did some searching and got too something called R4Wood. I copied it on the microSD and it worked (I think lol). So I copied some roms on the flascard and started the game on the ds. But when I start the game it keeps freezing at "LOADING...". After a day of searching and trying i became very desperate with what too do.

I hope you guys can help me out with this problem so my little brother can start playing again.
I'll post some pictures of the card so you can help me figure out which R4 it is.

Hi,I thins the problem is the kernel file.
Becuase your card is very old one, so you should download the old kernel for this card.
Maybe you can try some kernels at here: official download page. r4ids.cn
If it can't work, you can email the r4ids.cn and ask them send the right kernel to you.
Don't worry, it's a little problem.

Hi this should be the firmware your after you have a choice of GoldR4i standard, or better wood which has better compatibility.

Hi,
I tried the Wood R4iDSN v1.30 but the screen keeps freezing at "LOADING.." when i start the ds.
I'm now going to try the GoldR4i v1.32 but i prefer the wood since it had better compatibility like you said.
Hope you can help me out

Update:
So i tried the GoldR4i v1.32 and i came past the loading screen. I copied mario kart to the sd card and tried starting the game. It starts but after a while the game freezes. I tried some other games and the same problem keeps happening. I think the Wood kernel is better, since it has better compatibilty. If anyone can help me figure out what version i need, that would be great.
