I have a Wii modded with WiiKey 2 and tried burning MPT on it in ALL kinds of methods. I layer broke it, I change book type, tried different burning speeds using IMGBurn (Latest Version), and anything you could think of! I tried them all and it still doesn't work on my Wii! Its frustrating and time consuming, and kills my DL DVD's

! PLEASE, if anyone know the real solution of burning MPT for Wii Key 2, let me know how! I researched on it everywhere for months, and tried everyone's methods I've seen on forums and still doesn't work! Thanks!

...Can you please say what doesn't work? What is the Error you get? Maybe the Burn is correct but something on your Wii is wrong (maybe an IOS is missing, maybe your Wii can't read DL-Discs, etc...). Currently I would bet that something on your Wii is not right...but with the Info you gave, I can't say anything...

Small Checklist for burning:

-Use IMGBurn
-Use a DVD+R DL
-Try to use Verbatim Discs
-Set the Layer Break to 2084960
-Burn at 2.4x (or 4x)

Thanks for your first and quick response. Yes, my Wii can read Dual Layer Discs, for instance SSBB.. I did the same steps of SSBB for MPT. I got the error when you insert the disc, the screen goes black and say "Something Error, read instruction Manuel for further info." I currently have Memorex DVD+R DL, and yes I used Memorex for SSBB also and that worked... It's really frustrating. Btw, I did all the steps given by you before but don't have Verbatim Discs. Do they really matter? 'Cause Memorex worked fine for SSBB...

+++Oh and btw...
Sometimes when I burn it on IMGBURN,
I get the message saying FAIL to Burn at times, why does that happen?
It never happened to my SSBB when I burned it, oh and when I burned them both, I never got the message saying "Succesfully Burned" with that jungle song going off...
Hmm, strange.. I did everyone' steps perfectly..
Can it be the ISO? My DVD Drive? Wait, no, my DVD drive burn games perfectly usually..
Thanks once again.

One suggestion that might help, use Verbatim (or Sony) Dual Layers Disc that are "Made In Singapore", it made the difference for me on SSBB .I used DL Verbatim made in taiwan, and it wouldn't recognise, I had to *boost* the drive laser to have some results, but always had Disc Errors during the opening.
When I switched to Singapore discs (only one spindle left on the shelves, rest were taiwan) I had no errors at all.

If Memorex work for you, it's ok to use them. This was only a possibility why it didn't worked (some brands simpy won't work). Though, that the Burning fails is strange...this couldindicate that the ISO is corrupt, or that your Burners Firmware isn't Up-to-Date.

Honestly, now I can only guess...and my guesses are:

1) Bad ISO (redownload)
2) Not up-to-date Drive Firmware (try to update it)

Only guesses, so I don't take any responsibility. I would first download another Dump...but sorry that I can't help more.

umm i remember there being something about using Alternative DOLs for MPT. But that was when you use software to launch the game, things like Backup Launchrs and stuff.

bad iso/burn can be checked using veriify. (http://code.google.com/p/oowii/downloads/list)

How do you use Veriify? It opens and exits too face when i drag an ISO to the icon or when I put them together..
I did the following:

-Downloaded this App, plus root-key from HackMii and coomon-key from Google (Search for "Veriify" on GBATemp, and you'll find the root-key)
-Opened a new Command/Terminal (dunno how it's called on english
tongue.gif
)
-Drag and dropped the veriify.exe in it, typed veriify and drag and droped the iso in it. Something like:
veriify

I recieved then a strange result, but it seemed to work...

As I thought, you're using a bad media, the one you are using have layer break issues (and bad reflectivity), go and get Singapore Verbatims
