I have 2 non-patched Switches. They are pretty much identical. I can boot Hekate 6.0.2 on one of the Switches but not on the other. I have no idea what the difference is. I'm using the same setup, the same filestructure, the same file versions.. I used WinMerge to check and there is no difference in versions.

The only difference I can think of is: The Switch that can boot Hekate 6.0.2 has a 256GB SD card. Whereas the one not booting has a 512GB card. What else am I missing?

Attaching some images. The top Switch is running Hekate 6.0.2. The bottom Switch never displays the Hekate logo and the screen stays black. versio 5.9.0 works fine. I'm using the same RCM loader to boot.

The Switch that doesn't boot Hekate 6.0.2 works fine with both sysnand and emunand (fusee + atmosphere). The only thing that doesn't work is booting into Hekate 6.0.2 with an RCM loader. Version 5.9.0 boots fine. I don't need version 6.0.2 but I am curious why it won't work.. (since 5.9.0 works fine).

You probably got a bootleg RCM Loader then, there are fake one out there, try pushing the payload via computer.

I can boot the top Switch (see attached images in original post) using the same RCM Loader into Hekate 6.0.2... but ok I'll try pushing it from the computer just to see what happens

I just injected the Hekate 6.0.2 bootloader from the computer to the working Switch with Hekate 6.0.2 on the SD card (top Switch in attached photos) but that didn't work. The Switch just shut down. So instead I injected the Hekate 5.9.0 bootloader and that worked. It behaved exactly the same as when I use an RCM loader. (if I put the Hekate 6.0.2 bootloader on the RCM loader it won't work but placing the 5.9.0 bootloader works - and then the Hekate 6.0.2 "update.bin" on the SD card loads 6.0.2)

Next I tried the Switch that doesn't want to load Hekate 6.0.2. Version 6.0.2 is on the SD card so I tried pushing the 6.0.2 bootloader from the computer but that didn't work (same behavior as above). Next I tried pushing the 5.9.0 bootloader and suprisingly that worked.

I still don't understand why I can use the RCM Loader with Hekate 5.9.0 and it works with one Switch but not the other. It does work on both Switches when using the PC so the RCM Loader seems to be the problem. But still.. why does it work on one of the units...

People said it doesn't work when using version higher than 5.9.0, people report problem with hekate 6.0.1 and above, but it is not a hekate problem it is the payload dongle problem, the one you got is possibly fake if you got that from Aliexpress, you got a V5 I assume.

Bummer. But I am still unable to inject the Hekate 6.0.2 bootloader from the computer. The Switch just shuts down. Injecting the bootloader from 5.9.0 works. So it doesnt't seem to be a problem limited to the RCM loader

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
