I always tried to beat SMbro1 straight thru on NES without using the warps, never could beat it but close many times. Makes me think if I ever made it to the Princess, I'd just punch her in the mouth.

Coming back to this thread as I've finally remembered Culdcept Revolt. Holy shit that game can make you rage.
You know when you've got a deathtrap waiting for your opponent in Monopoly, if only they'd land on any of the properties you've got lined up? Only, they don't, and it seems like every single roll is a miracle number that they need to just sail clean fucking past you EVERY SINGLE TIME?
That's Culdcept. There are many sources claiming empirical evidence that the AI does not and cannot cheat, but man, it really feels like it most of the time.

Mario Kart 7 on 3DS also has rubberbanding A.I. and it's frustrating for sure.
Never noticed it in that game. I found the newer Mario Kart titles rather easy. Really from DS onward.
