Nope. Flasher still required.

The new METLDR prevents downgrades. Hasn't been any real changes on that for several years and probably will never change.

Ive bought 2 ps3's from carboot sales, both haven't been touched in years both came with below 3.55 on them, both of them cost me just £10 (123 krone) I've kept one for myself, the second I gave to a friend for £30 (369 krone).

Moral of this story, try carboot sales and old brick a brack stores, there are treasures buried gaharrrr
