Has anybody hardmodded their switch with a mod chip?

Lots of people have. Just search these forums for Trinket M0, you'll find some examples. You really need to have good soldering skills though, and there's different methods each with it's own pros / cons.

only 1 of them is good tho (because getting power from signal pin is not a good idea).

I also want this, but as I'm not a electronics engineer, I will be waiting for team-Xecuter upcoming soldering modchip as I trust them more than using a random chip from other stuff in it.

I don't want damage on any component on the long run, I have some older TX products on other consoles and even after thousands and thousands of hours of use all of them are still working fine so I totally trust TX chip designs.

Trinket M0 is a random chip?
You know that there will be the same danger no matter what modchip you will use? And you can also put the SX Pro inside your switch.

I don't know anything about it...

    I see it's a known chip, but wasn't designed exclusively 4 switch...

Ps: it's just my opinion 4 my self, it's not intended to scare anyone as everyone have the trinket m0 working perfectly. Everyone is perfectly fine to use what they want, I my self will keep waiting for TX modchip.

Yeah I edited my post, I searched 4 it after... I already saw other products from them, but had no idea trinket m0 was from them.

I know it's a good chip, but on the long term I still don't know if it does anything bad on Switch hardware or not.

I can imagine that the chip is just getting power from some point on the switch that has power when it's turned on, then the chip enters RCM right away by using home button+vol, then it will search for RCM success and send the payload and then goes to standby.

Now in terms of hardware I don't know anything about it, what voltages, what resistance or anything at all, what's its power consumption in standby...

Edit: I still prefer waiting for TX full custom chip entirely designed 4 switch alone and I'm also hoping that they could add some extra stuff, I would kill 4 an extra M-SD slot that could be used 4 emunand and then let the Switch main M-SD port to keep changing cards with different backups :)

It can't do anything bad to the hardware.
Voltage is 3v/4-6v. Power consumption in standby is pointless, as it is so low, it won't affect anything ever.

The third one, because it is not pulling current from the signal pin. It is used only to wake it up.

Lol. Pin 5 is vcc-in. It even has a filter cap attached.
Feel free to check the datasheet

Only issue is chip + TX OS costs for than TX OS pro

Once TX OS is cracked then Trinket M0 or whatever chip works will be my go to install for people.

I would rate the soldering very easy for every part other than the capacitor, which I would rate moderate (mostly because a few people seem to have knocked it off - oh sorry, their "friends" did).

Having some magnification helps if you have old eyes.

I've got SX Loader flashed to the trinket, which is great as it lets you boot any other payload right from the SD card.
