Hey fellow tempers I will soon be hard modding my battery into a pandora to, finally put CFW on my spare PSP. So I was wondering if someone could explain the best possible way to remove pin 5 from the chip? Also I was wondering which GEN FW is better D2 or D3?

The best possible way to remove that tiny pin is to buy a cheap Pandora from Deal Extreme. Yes i appreciate it's not the answer you wanted but trust me that i've heard about this going pear shaped very often, and given the rarity of genuine batteries these days i'd personally want to keep it intact.

I'm sure people will tell you to either use D3 Final or D2 with the pegasus.prx set up as a plugin.

I am not worried about the battery since I gave 2 PSPs, one that works great and is unmodded and one that is weird with freezing problems, that will be modded. Plus my good one has a battery as well and the other battery will just be wasted sitting in a spare PSP. If no one else can help me out with my battery mod then I will order one from Dealextreme

Lots of people suggest scoring the PCB rather than cutting the leg itself because it's less risky.

I messed up my original battery doing this. All I have to say to you is *be patient*.

Man, it was a long tim ago when I did mine. It took me 2 tries, as the first one I accidentally bridged a connection and shorted out the battery. On the second one, I used electrical tape to cover all the metal peices near the pin and broke it with a thumb tack. I still have my Pandora's battery and it still works great.

I didnt have an issue cutting mine, just used a Exacto knife and chopped the leg. Though I can see how people could easily mess this up.

It's really not hard to do. I just soldered the leg off and pried it with a knife and glued the shell back on. Takes 15 minutes tops if your iron is heated up.

If you have a service mode battery, you can still use it normally but you need the time machine IPL injected into your magicgate supported memory stick.
