Hacking Hard Drive or Enclosure

Hi,
I've managed to get USB Loader GX running back ups using my memory stick. I decided to get an enclosure for my hard drive so I could use it instead. USB Loader doesn't seem to recognise it. The enclosure is a Lexi WXT-E811 and the hard drive is an old IDE Seagate Barracuda 120 GB. Is the enclosure the problem or the hard drive? Any help would be appreciated.

only way to tell in my eyes is to swap both out try another drive in the enclosore, see if it detects it, just dont let it format it

Thought I might have to do that. The drive works fine with WBFS Manager though.
