Can someone please recommend the least expensive way to go for my situation? I have a sata II 90GB ssd and I have a WD5000AACS it says sata 3.0 green drive. Whats my best option to use one of these with the wiiu? Would the ssd work self powered it doesnt draw much current but I know they say use ac powered so several factors to consider like I really dont need this 500GB drive for just games will the 90GB be enough and then the enclosure...please recommend a solution.

You're probably not going to get a speed performance from the SSD, or at least in would be nominal. So really comes down to how many games you would be adding. If it were me I'd go with the 500gb and a powered enclosure.

Hi I bought an inateck hard drive enclosure which was suggested in another thread. The hard drive is spinning and has external power but Wii u won't recognise it. Is there another hard drive enclosure. Can any person recommend one.

From what I have been able to find out about it the speed is limited by the USB 2.0 speed of the Wii U. Not really much point in the SSD besides possibly consistency.
Also hard drives are cheaper and larger capacity would likely not hurt either. You would need a super cheap y cable for the hard drive to work with just us ports.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
