I need some help, I'm pretty confused here. Last time I messed with hakchi2 it was 2.09, I haven't played the Mini in a while. I added 13 games to the original 30 when hackchi2 first came out. I just downloaded the latest v2.13e a few minutes ago.

I then plugged my MNES into my PC and the drivers wouldn't install? Even though I used this PC for 2.09. I'm an idiot, I completely forgot how to do all of this now, how to get everything working again?

I want to remove the 13 games I added and then I want to add some new ones (Sega, etc). Now that you can add like 600, I want to go ahead and do that. What are the steps I need to take to do all of this. When I open up hakchi2, it doesn't recognize my NES.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I upgraded from 2.11 to 2.13e.

These are the steps I took:

* keep in mind the method below will NOT keep your old games (what you wanted). If you wanted to keep your games you would need to also copy your "games" folder to the new hakchi.

1) d\l Hakchi 2.13e and install it in a new folder.
2) copy the "dump" directory from old Hakchi to new (folder won't be on new version so copy old dump over)
3) d\l the latest version of RetroArch and unzip it to a new folder. https://github.com/ClusterM/retroarch-clover
4) copy any mods *.hmod from the RetroArch folder to the "user_mods" folder in your new hakchi 2.13e. (retroarch.hmod + any additional .hmod for the systems you will be using)
5) goto the "Install Modules" tab in hakchi 2.13e and select the "retroarch" + any additional modules (cores) you want to install ie) SNS9x2005
6) Hakchi should then prompt u to install Retroarch + any modules.
7) load all your games to Hakchi.
8) If you want custom folders.. goto folders tab and select the last option for custom folders (use the folder manager)
9) Click the sync button to sync your games, when prompted by folder manager create and setup your new folders however you want them (30MB each folder)
10) Go through the sync process, takes a while w a lot of games. It's normal to have to power off and on the system several times.. just follow the instructions when prompted.
11) Enjoy!

I can't get my PC to recognize the NES? It doesn't show up under "My Computer".

Yes, THANKS! In retropie I use the crt-pi* shaders present in that repo. Crt-pi.glslp adds nice scanlines with no geometry changes and the other crt-pi* shaders add curvature in the borders like an old, curved, CRT TV.

Thanks a lot again for looking into this.

After some reviewing and testing with the CRT-Pi shaders. I don't think I can make them work, the adjustments that I do, don't do anything on them at all. There are a bunch of other CRT based ones out there that do work. I will be testing more on those to see how well they work in creating the scanlines and add the curvature of old CRT TV's. Any that I do find I will add, and issue a new release package if I find ones that don't do much slow down to the games. It seems that all games have similar slow down on the high quality shaders.

That's strange since u modded it before. When you plug your NES into your PC are u using the USB cable that came with the NES Classic? Your computer should recognize when you plug the cable into your PC..

It does not need to be seen in My Computer, you shouldn't need to do it that way. You do not need to copy files like a USB hard drive, it runs through hakchi2, you use this tool to upload to the NES Classic. If you are referring to that the device is not been seen by Installing the driver, then that is a different issue. Could you provide more detail at what point are you having the issue?

I just updated Retroarch and SNES9x2005 along with MAME2003 and neogeo.zip BIOS. I'm now getting a C7 error when launching every non-NES game.. NES games seem to work fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like another reason why I'm still on 2.12 with the first retroarch

Got it FIXED. I just had to reinstall retroarch.. got a copy from a user here but for some reason his didn't work (was a folder vs a file)..

retroarch.hmod (folder with contents) vs retroarch.hmod (file)

I assume he packed his own version or something?

Mine is a folder. I got that instead of the file. I got the file first then realized the folder is what you need. It has the file in it and It's how you can change and add cores and make bins etc. Takes just a minute to do. He might have packed his own but the first retroarch release if you download the source file zip it gives you the retro folder, which like I said has the file in it. And it's simple after that.

Has anyone managed to get PAL rom's running in Retroarch on the NES Classic at the correct speed?
I'm trying to run a few PAL exclusives and even just PAL versions of Mario etc since that's what I grew up with and am used to. The audio when playing PAL roms is sped up and high pitched and just awful overall.
I've tried both NES cores. I figured they would auto detect the region?

I was under the impression that Nestopia could handle PAL perfectly, are you saying that's not the case?

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
