The light not turning off might have to do with the amount of games he put on. The larger the amount, the longer the light stays on. It only lasted 10 seconds for me.
You already update the retroarch folder ? no issues eh? Also how much space you used up in the liberto rom folder? Someone said it was 67 mb ish which is good amount for now i guess. That can hold essential/best SNES games 14 games is 28.7 MB what I got then NS games take up like 15 MB ish

Did you put his latest verison he posted above on this page ? You had no problems sync'ing it? cause someone above says there LED won't turn off so Im scared try switching / sync it. and i already deleted old retroarch folder and put new one PCM posted above
I'm a cluster's hakchi2 user(;)) until last pcm drive update.I try to tell that my hakchi2 version is 2.11 and no use retroarch. I think that only delete the "1942" folder or maybe deleting from hakchi2 list of games. and extract the files from pcm drive .rar to hakchi2 folder. Then to test without folders use(hakchi2 2.11) unselect all hakchi2 list of games and only check Retroarch check in hakchi2 list games. Then syncro your mini and enjoy.

@pcm720 If I made a wrong step(to kingj) tell us.

The internal hard drive of the Mini is 300MB. That would allow around 40 SNES games. Don't know if that answers your question.

compiled the latest hakchi2 (still shows at v2.11) and made custom folders, made sure RetroArch is in Main... get "Kernal is too big" error. Whats going on?

its only 111 MB game folder

"temp' folder with kernal goes to 279MB, not sure why its nearly 3x bigger than game folder

111mb is the entire games folder, not just the Retroarch ROMs. Also stuck on the damn red light not going off :(

Well I tried installing the Fba alpha core from retroarch but it's just too big for the mini (at least when keeping. all my nes games). I've instead tried installing just a couple snes games but am just getting a c6 error when clicking on the retroarch icon?

Only to check, did you extract the pcm retroarch pack with 7zip?

Rgs.

I've just done it, included just the 30 games + retro arch and 20mb of snes games, got the i think C2 error at the start (which I expected, reset factory defaults etc) fired up retroarch (never used it before) managed to figure it all out games work fine, dropped back out to nes mini, tried a nes title fine, turned off back on no factory default message.

I'm going to do a video on it, hopefully it might help a few people.

thanks @pcm720 great instructions mate, I hope you wont mind me using them and pointing people at your googledocs file?

As long (few months/weeks) as i have been busy with Hakchi2 on this forum, i wanted to know if other emulators would work, and today i found out they do.
So i should be glad right ?
Yes i am, but maybe i wanted it to be more easy, i saw the video of our good friend Nesito, his video's helped me pick games for my kids, and i think he did an awesome job for this forum.
But i saw his new video about RetroArch and i wished it would be more easier or maybe more beautiful.
Maybe i had a picture in my head how other emulators would run on the Mini NES, maybe with the same Mini NES retro screen, with the menu music we all love, but with choices.
For instance, a list of Folders, NES, SNES, GB, SMS, SMD, maybe even Coleco or PCE.
You would then go into the SNES folder, and see all the games there, with their box art, the same way as we see our NES games now.
Maybe someone is working on that, maybe never, but if that day comes, i will start to try to run RetroArch, but for now, i will stay with my NES games, i just have the feeling, that it is too soon...just my two cents :-)
