My friend's wii is a lu57, and is 4.0u, I want to make sure i don't brick it, so if i use banner bomb, then install preloader and cioscorp, everything should go work correctly right?

Yes. But use BootMii instead of Preloader. Why? BootMii is more powerful brick protection for your Wii, than Preloader.

bannerbomb, bootmii IOS (since boot2 is probably outta the question) then cios, preloader and corp3.2 if you really must.

As long as you don't do anything crazy like erase the system menu. Keep it somewhat basic and know what you are doing before you do it, and you will turn out fine. Don't skim over instructions. Read them fully and try to understand what is going on. You don't wanna get stuck in the middle of an instalation.

you have to have trucha enabled IOS's to run many homebrew applications. Just run Trucha Bug Restorer from my guide and your set.
