I found loading GTA: Chinatown Wars to take pretty long but that can be normal?

Yes, GTA takes AGES to load. Fortunately this can be fixed by adding a custom infolib.dat to the TTMENU folder.

How do I do this without overwriting my Platinum and Chinatown Wars .sav files?

The GTA save doesn't need to be overwritten. There are ways to increase the size of an existing Pokemon save but I never had to find them out. I started Pokemon Platinum AFTER this fix.

1. Obviously, download all of the above, and unzip them all to their appropriate folders.
2. DLDI patch YSMenu.nds (I hope you know how to do this by now)
3. In Spec's tutorial he tells you to edit the config towards the end, but I like doing it beforehand, just to get it out of the way, so open up ysmenu.cfg, remove the semicolon in front of LITERALS=LITERALS_ENG and add in a semicolon in front of LITERALS=LITERALS_JPN
4. Take the files of the dstt firmware (ttmenu_en.zip) and place them into your ysmenu folder (not the eng folder, but what's inside it)
5. Run the ttextract.exe and you will get some files (ttdldi.dat and ttpatch.dat, and hopefully r4patch.dat, but since most people didn't get this file, including myself, I included it in the above downloads)
6. Open up the r4denc folder, and drag and drop YSmenu.nds over the r4enc icon to get YSmenu.nds.dat in the YSMenu folder
7. Rename this new file _DS_MENU.dat (if your computer hides file extensions, then remember to just rename it _DS_MENU, and remember to choose the right file, because I accidentally renamed my original nds file by accident a few times

)
8. Copy the following files into your MicroSD:

Inside Root Of SD Card = TTMENU Folder, _DS_MENU.DAT, goomba.gba, pocketnes.gba & any other homebrew you may have.

Inside TTMenu Folder = gbaframe.bmp, r4dldi.dat, r4patch.dat, system.ank, system.fon, system.l2u,
system.u2l, ttreset.dat, USRCHEAT.DAT, YSMenu1.bmp, YSMenu2.bmp, YSMenu.ini

Like I said, if you have any other files that are not mentioned above just delete them, they are junk files.

I got everything but the R4Denc file it just goes to the webpage, I hate how this guy doesn't let anyone else at least help host his files or give us a link to it. He seems very childish and selfish, I just went back to the official R4 firmware for now maybe I'll just get a different card later if I need to run the latest roms.

I had the same problem. You're using a clone. Follow Triassic's method, and decrypt after you encrypt.

i do play chinatown wars, but i took the rom from my brother prepatched

id look around for a prepatched rom, or search around the forums for the patch

for anyone having problems with r4crypt (or that gui thingy for r4crypt), i suggest using yasu's r4denc

well i believe that if you want to update your ysmenu, you have to do the whole thing all over again, but to update the ttmenu, you just replace the ttmenu folder with the new one in your microsd
anyone feel free to disagree with me, because i havent really worked with this enough

I did the r4ysauto using the ysmenu 0903 zip when it asked for a 08 i just renammed the 08 to 09. If thats the ok so far then. After that i placed in the latest cheat.dat and deleted the default usrcheat.dat. After that i backuped all the folders in my r4 by making duplicates on my harddrive then i deleted them. Finally pasted everything from r4ysauto excluded the skins folder w/ the new cheat.dat into my microsd directory. I get an error can't fatInitDefault. From seeing this error not sure what fat means or if it has anything to do with my original FAT_SYSTEM folder...

Help would be appreciated

for r4ysauto, what setting did you use? all of them should of been just a drag and drop to the microsd (with of course backing up your files, as you did)
have you tried formatting and putting everything on again? that always seems to be a fix for alot of people

for firmware you need to encrypt ysmenu.nds to create a dat file (as in the tutorial)
for the others, they should work as they should by just dragging and dropping
and just replace the cheat.dat with the usrcheat version of it, that could be the problem (unless im taking your words a bit too literally)

but yeah, all i can say is redo and try again

I need some help ASAP. I did this and everything runs right until I have to games. They all all stop 3/4 of the way and I left them on for 2 mins and nothing happens. The games are Rythmn Heaven, Pokemon Platinum, Henry Hatworth, and GTA:CW all (U). Also for some reason I had to make a new save for GTA:CW.

You need to do it from the beginning if you want to update. unless you know what file/s to update. you can skip a step or two. Never tried to skip a step but I'm successful on every step so it doesnt bother me to start over again.
