Hacking Guide to installing + uninstalling YSmenu on the R4

I have just tried to get YSmenu working on my R4I Gold but it doesn't work at it's stuck at loading.
I've tried to install several other firmwares on this card but it seems that none of them work.
And since the "official" firmware of the cards site: www.r4ids.com is really outdated and none of the new roms work on it my hope was aimed on YSmenu.
Could anyone help me with this?

Btw, I noticed that the card only gets pass the loadingscreen with the official _DS_MENU.DAT.

Edit: When i press YSMenu like a game on my r4 menu, and try to play a game. It says unsupported DLDI Name.

I have done everything exactly, i have r4ultra. It does not work, gets stuck on loading.. with black screen. Now that i try to format sd + use original firmware from r4ultra.com. it still gets stuck!

If that's the Acekard clone, you've probably bricked it. YSMENU along with the original software, is not firmware. They are operating systems, OSMenu's, Operating software, Kernels or whatever else you want to call them.

You can unbrick the R4i Ultra by reapplying the Danny Phantom fix, there's one with DSL in the filename which will allow you to unbrick it.

when i try to format it says it will erase all data on my sd. do i have to format? And when i try to load bowser's inside story, after it's done loading it just freezes at a white screen.

I followed the instructions. I have the new ysmenu, but whne I do r4crypt i do not get any files at all. No ds_menu.DAT file. So am not able to ge a output file. What could be the problem?

Followed your great guide ... But on my R4 Upgrade, it won't work ...
When i boot my DSL, on the topscreen appears an icon that says: " MENU? " ...
Hm :/
What can I do to run YSMenu?

...just use WoodR4? THe M3DS Simply and original R4DS were practically the exact same (apart from the M3 Simply having one extra connection or something) and WoodR4 does work on the M3 DS Simply.

Edit: I did that now, and it was so easy, compared to YSmenu. xD
And Pokemon White works.

Hi there I have an R4 III Upgrade, and I folloew every step exactly as you said, and I'm still stuck at the screen that says loading, I even copied over the system folder moonshl folder and the moonshel .nds file and I'm having no luck, Help would be appreciated.

I think your R4 card is fake.

Original R4 Card Differentiate From Fake R4

By R4 Package
Imitation card package are almost the same as Wood R4 Original card, but there are still some little difference.Http://www.r4ds.com is printed to the wood r4 original card. The printing is clear. Wood r4 imitation card offers a similar printing, but it changes website name to others. What's more, another blue paster with "built-in 2GB" was pasted to the imitation wood r4 card.

By R4 Card Surface
The original wood r4 card has an U slot for MicroSD card, it is an outter memory without mark. The wood r4 imitation card has no slot for MicroSD card, it has a thicker silver stamp on surface. An extra silver paster with "2GB" writing is pasted to imitation card surface.
Inside Wood R4 Package
The wood r4 original card is put in a blue casstte with a MicroSD card reader. Imitation Wood R4 ds card is in a coffee casstte, with a USB line, but without MicroSD reader.

By R4 Kernel
Wood R4 can run Wood R4 Kernel well but Wood R4 imitation or fake one does not support.

Anyone got his card from this site? I want to know if it really works, or if it's just another fake with false promises.

If your unsure about buying R4 cards, never trust fishy looking sites. Instead, ask the forum , or get it from Shoptemp, since those are the 1:1's who actually run Wood R4.
