Google's New MMO Game - Ingress

Because the majority of gamers own desktops. It's a bit hard to cater a game that relies on moving to certain areas in the world whilst carrying your desktop around with some sort of portable power supply.

I was in no way implying anyone would carry their desktop PCs around, but phones are not the only thing you can carry around.

It's simple:
Smartphones+Laptops+Tablets > Smartphones only (actually, even the number of laptop-owners alone probably exceeds smartphone and tablet-owners together)
More people having access to your game -> more people having fun and more money for you (everyone wins)


I would understand such a move from apple, samsung or whoever else makes and sells smartphones, but someone neutral on that matter should have the intention of making his product available to as many people as possible, thus making it compatible with all mobile devices.
