I've never been into MMO games, but this one has piqued my interest.
That actually looks awesome. Too bad I don't have a smartphone. X_X
don't get into them especially if they have item malls TRUST ME!
Signed up...Definitely got me interested, even though I have absolutely no idea how it works.
Not sure if ignorant...
But I could now go to my local mall to buy clothes AND items!
On topic - HOLY SHITFUCKS THIS LOOKS AWESOME.
This app is incompatible with your Optus HTC HTC Incredible S."
It's just the country though. If it comes down to it and I actually get accepted into the closed beta then I'll just get the apk.
Here's the APK for people
its a free download so legal to distribute
obviously never played a real MMO in your life or you'd know what an item mall was
So Google ventures into the Gaming market too now....
Very happy with that tbh, I love their products and just keep sharing them.
it's using Augmented Reality? That's a thing which always interested me. But I don't have phone/tablet.
Can you fake the GPS position ? (let's hack the game to visit deserted island with treasure where nobody will go in real life! lol)
I don't know if you will find a lot of players, I hope there are a lot of NPC/enemies or else it will be boring.
How difficult is this game? Can you die-gress?
Neat. I don't have a smartphone that has service, though. :/
Is Minecraft considered an mmo? Because if it is then its worlds are 8 times the size of earth aren't they?
This reminds me of Backyard Monsters and the like, where the goal is to conquer and control chunks of the map, except you do this by going to real-world locations and uploading your GPS location. Good luck camping specific sites.
I've been invited to play Ingress.
Did anybody else get invited?
Honestly, it looks boring but considering it's Google; I requested an invite.
2 things I notice about this:
1- MMO use to be shitty, and the fact that google is the dev do no change it, but ok, we cant judge it without even look at it.
2- If they will release it for iOS, where is the "war" against apple that everybody is talking about? War between dumb customers do not mean war between companies.
Because half the people who have smartphones use iOS. Porting the game to iOS doubles your potential userbase.
Why the fuck would you limit your mmo to the tiny minority of people that have smartphones?
A PC release has a hundred times the potential amount of customers.
Because the majority of gamers own desktops. It's a bit hard to cater a game that relies on moving to certain areas in the world whilst carrying your desktop around with some sort of portable power supply.
