I remember playing this. I think I enjoyed it.

I actually ended up getting it by stealing it from some guy I didn't like. He's a ginger though, so it's cool.

Oh my gosh this is my favorite GBA game and, until the release of Portal 2, was my favorite all time game. Part of the reason I really liked it was because I didn't really think too much of it when I first started playing it.. It was my brother's game that I just sort of borrowed. :P

The music, gameplay, story, and humor really got me. I'll never forget the cutscenes involving the coffee beans with Professor Gadd.. I just can't explain it.

I was really disappointed with PiT, but BiS was a pleasant experience. Still, neither compare to how I felt with the original game. Also, I had no idea until now that Nintendo has made a sequel. I normally don't play games anymore, but I might just have to pick this one up!

superstar sega was SO AWESOME. the only reason I play the mario and luigi series BECAUSE of this game. smrpg was all time favorite, and I think that's why I connected with it so much, they do relate as in rpg way. personally I didn't like the first paper mario as much, but I grew into it as I do with the rest of the series. I just dont want to see any more stupid ass yarn games. wtf nintendo, am I 4?

Awesome game. The brothers and their special moves (even if you fail them) are so funny. I find this better than the second one for the DS.

A must play if you still haven't!

Other than Sticker Star, which I finished some months ago, I've never played any "Paper Mario" game. I should. I have played SMRPG (on Wii VC), Superstar Saga, and Partners in Time, all to completion, in just the last couple years. In fact, back in July 2011 I actually posted here about beating Culex. I was pretty excited at the time ... not that anyone cared.

From the games in this line that I have played though, Superstar Saga was definitely the most fun. I took it as entertainment more than a game, and just had a blast playing it. Maybe the intimacy of the GBA made it a little more enjoyable for me than SMRPG, or maybe it was the lack of that "Square" feel. Whatever, it is my favorite of these. But like I said, I still have the console Paper Mario games to play.

Awesome game.
I like how the overworld deviated from the then typical "world map in which you can access cities/dungeons/etc" as seen in most GBA rpg's.
Gameplay is great since you actually feel in control of the battles: if you are great in this game you can finish boss battles without taking a single hit.

I don't quite understand how you can love Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi but not like Super Mario RPG (especially the 2 latter ones as they're rather similar to me), but M&L indeed is great though the other entries in the series deserve a GBAtemp Recommends too, they're just as good.
I have yet to beat any of the games in the M&L series but they're on my list :P I played the first and second ones for a while though.

I've been trying to like it ever since it could emulated but I've found it to be quite dull and pedestrian. I'm not into JRPG games much so it could be that. Oh, and it looks horrendous too, a real eyesore, seriously pre-rendered sprites were a real bad design choice for many games.

I used to have this on GBA, but never really played it (always saving it for a rainy day) Don't carry a GBA or Lite on me anymore, so I started playing it on my DSTWO. Emulation was quite good for this game, only slight frame problems and text problems when characters shout, or in cutscenes when an NPC is walking and talking (it makes like a crashing sound). Will need to finish it one of these days, but every time I load back into it I can't remember which direction I'm meant to be walking!

A lack of interest in JRPGs doesn't have much to do with it, I think. I'm quite interested in them,, but I still found it to be mediocre (and even dislike DKC for the prerendered sprites, but that's another subject).

To be honest, I think the main problem is that SMRPG lacked the charm and witty dialogue that the subsequent Mario RPGs had. The music is by the same composer, so I don't think that's a huge problem.

this is not the actual trailer, the one provided was a fan made one introducing when they would do and upload a Lets Play on the game

this is the actual E3 Trailer

although the small youtuber probably appreciated the traffic on the video

I preferred that one at the time.

I cant justify $1k+ on a nice ass phone. I can spend that on a 75" tv screen. Why a 6" screen device cost me the same? lol

I can justify a decent $800 smartphone that'll last 3 years when I could get a 65" TV for $400 and buy a decent micro computer for $100 more

Tbf there are decent $400 smartphones in today's market that make top end spec phones unjust it's just what you want
