I thought I would share what I found regarding getting wifi linking to work on my DSi and 3DS for those that are interested and haven't gotten it to work.

Basically what I found was that for these two systems to connect I had to have both run the DS build. No other combination of builds worked. However, I've heard people getting it to work by using two DSis and the DSi build, but I don't have the consoles here to test that.

I tried to make a guide on how to set it up on the wifi link compatibilty list which I've also updated with the few games I tested:
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBARunner2/Link

I went on to test a couple of games and found some weird things. The most surprising was the fact that in order to get Advance Guardian Heroes to connect I had to first make the systems connect in Contra Advance and navigate back to the rom browser and run AGH.

Next I found that AGH has an extremely stable connection. I went 4+ meters away across the room and the systems kept being connected and I could even play without noticing any latency while looking at the other system's screen.

This is not the case for every game and most games I tested did not work, even some that are reported as working by others. This makes me believe that compatibility is tied to what systems you're using and what build. Most likely AGH is a single exception to how well linking works. Still, there are many games that have not been tested.

I might be able to test 3DS to 3DS connection later this summer and I'm curious to see how that goes.

Hey guys! is it possible to have gbarunner on the hiyacfw homescreen?
According to the dev of DS rom forwarder it might be possible. I don't know anyone who's got it to work, me included. If you try it and manage to get it to work please share here since many people have shown interest in this.

Something strange just happened

i got the DS build of gbarunner and it showed up nice but then it started up TWilightmenu

and the DSi build wont install idk why

I'll work on it

EDIT: put DS build in folder with other gbarunner version and still booted to TWilightmenu

Not sure what you're trying to say. What build for the DSi doesn't want to install? If you mean that you made a forwarder for gbarunner2 and it started up twilightmenu++ when you ran it, then welcome to the club. It has probably something to do with the forwarder ini.

Also the DSi build of GBARunner2 won't install on the system menu if you try to use TMFH.

The Forwarder.

Yes as I said that's what you should look into. I haven't done that, and probably no one else has, in order to get GBARunner2 to work as a forwarded homebrew on the hiyacfw system menu.

Following the guide and using the tools I sent you above I was able to make the forwarder you asked about. You need to drag the gbarunner2_arm7dldi_dsi.nds file over the makeforwarder.exe. After you've transfered what you've got to your SD card and you run this from your Hiyacfw system menu for the first time, you'll have to point it to nds-bootstrap-hb.nds which comes with twilightmenu++ in _nds and to the gbarunner2_arm7dldi_dsi.nds that you can find in _nds if you have Twilightmenu++ installed. If you don't have TWLM++ installed you can still just make a folder called _nds and put gbarunner2_arm7dldi_dsi.nds there.

Here's a link to a Forwarder I made and an explanation on how to use it:

No luck with that either. Managed to make it work only one time and still it got stuck at the level card issue.
I see. Well, in that case I have no ideas about what you can do other than wait and see if it ever gets fixed or if it even is possible to have it fixed.

Hi guys,

I am a total noob is this thing, I got a 3ds xl with a r4 card using the original kernal with moonshell 2. I try to download and move the gbarunner2 file into my r4 2020 gold Pro card. But it either says bios missing or SCFG locked when I try another arm7 or 9 file.. Anything I am missing here, do I need something else? Please advice.. Thank you..

You need to use the DS build(s).
If you want to use the 3DS build (which is better), then install TWiLight Menu++ on your console's SD card.

What is DS builds? Which means after I install the twilight ++ then I can start to use the gbarunner2 to play gba roms on my 3ds?

DS builds are the versions of GBARunner2 made for the DS. If you plan to use your flash cart to play GBA games that is what you will have to use.

If you want your GBA games to play better and have better sound you should follow this guide:
3ds.hacks.guide
Then after that install twilightmenu++.
