A small question, sorry in advance if it seems stupid to ask this but so far in all alpha versions of GBAR3 I have not seen a built-in browser to select games as in the previous version, no menu to adjust settings or simply to leave the game launched to change the game, will this be planned when the public version comes out?

A browser to load games will not be implemented, as GBARunner3 is being made with frontends (such as TWLMenu++) in mind.

Maybe it's better to have a rom brower in GBARunner3? Because it's a bit slow (and more SD card reading) to load and restart TWLMenu++ everytime you want to change game in GBARunner3.:)

There's another frontend in development that will be released soon(TM) whose main focus is to load faster, there's also hbmenu which supports ARGV, so you can use that rn.

Because of this, Rom Browser into GBARunner3 is considered redundant.

Sorry to bring this up again but by any chance do you have a link to a file that works as a border for gbarunner3? I have gbarunner3 enabled in the settings menu. I have a border labeled as you said but when I load gbarunner3 no border :(

Thanks !

It needs to be 8 bit (256 color) bmp file.
Png, jpg, true color borders will not work.
Open paint and save your border as 256 color bitmap.

Got mother 3 to work? I still can’t actually load into the game beyond the menu.

cheers

Mother 3 with english patch don’t pass the menu for me too (when you finish naming all your characters and press “yes”, give one black screen). And have some strange glitchy sounds (mainly in the left ear).

Mother 3 japanese don’t let me pass the menu too, but don’t have the sounds glitch like the patched version.

(Strangely, i started Mother 3 (english) in GBARunner 2 to try to counter the black screen, but now i got the black screen later when someone knock the door)

Did you put the config files on your sd card?
The config.ini? I believe so. Which config file are you referring to? Most games are working in gbarunner3 for me but mother 3 where I get a black screen after loading.

Gbarunner3 does let me save in Shin Megami Tensai tho so that’s cool

Huh, neat. I didn't know you could change the target render aspect ratio/resolution with RTCom.

What I noticed in gbarunner3 it depends also what twlmenu++ version you have. The recent I guess the better, I had less sound issues with recent twlmenu++ for sonic advance 2 than with very first build that support gbarunner3.
Some gfx glitches appears like in gbarunner2 for regular nds build, (i.e. textbar blinking for advance wars), or have the same unsupported titles - Sword of Mana, Magical Vacations where gbarunner2 for dsi build deal better.
But about pros, in example Sonic Advance 2 finally perfect sound sync, or no sprites glitches in Pocky and Rocky with Becky.
Recently I beated Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament with 100% complete stages gathering all dreamstones, and sunstones. with all 5 pictures in gallery, and worked well. Besides small gfx glitches on status bar or text windows in very rare occasions. (Train stage, text randomly skips +-20px x positions several times per second. (generally I can say it works flawesly)) Didn't test how it works with gbarunner2, but probably same good. (tested and yes it works same good, despite sound crackling while loading data in gbarunner2 and audio desync on title screen)

edit; this opens, shows gameboy start screen and freezes. any idea why?
You need to launch a GBA game using TWiLight Menu++. Open "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/settings.ini", and set "GBARUNNER3_TEST" to "1". If that setting doesn't exist, add "GBARUNNER3_TEST = 1" underneath "[SRLOADER]".
When doing this, ensure "GBARunner3.nds" is placed in "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/emulators/".
