Try not to use a bios file.Every time I download a rom (or rom hack for that matter) and try to play it the screen gets to CPUInit and it stops and the other screen stays completely white. All roms and rom hacks I've tried so far are .gba and I'm running the latest R4i Gold 3DS Wood Kernel off of r4ids.cn. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Yea what were the settings used and are you using the latest version? The settings I use are (in order as they appear): (A) for normal, SaveTypeAutomatic, FPS 60/12, (B) for no autovsync (normal),Video Sync Line 150, (A) for Normal Speed, (A) for No MB, And advirqsound for Sound/launcher. did you DLDI Patch hbmenu.nds?
Also heads up you double posted.
Try not to use a bios file.
This is the version I downloaded, I believe it is the latest one yeah. http://www.mediafire.com/download/00i742a9652cb9q/gbaemu4ds alpha 2 fix4.zip I tried several combinations of settings, when I tried the one you used I got to IEF: 00030001 but the other screen still stays white. And yeah I know, my internet was lagging and I got a Moderator to delete it. Thanks though.
I apologize if this is a noob question, I am new to using an R4i Gold, but how would I go about doing that?
Yes this is the latest Version.
What is on the screen before the IEF: 00030001
So you are not using a GBA bios file?
If you are using a GBA bios file skip the step where you load the gba bios file.
I have found a bug in the BIOS loading so I guessed that this was the cause of this Problem.
did you DLDI Patch hbmenu.nds?
The nds file had the correct dldi loaded. Most likely the OS loaded the dldi.I checked what was before the IEF: 00030001 and it had the word BIOS in it so I am assuming I am using a GBA bios file in that case. Here is all of what the screen displays:
arm7init
irqinit
emulateedbiosstart
ndsMode
gbaInit
gbaMode2

Hope that helps.
How do I skip the step where I load the gba bios file?
Forgot to answer this, I don't believe I did as I just added the files to the SD card. How would I go about patching it?
The nds file had the correct dldi loaded. Most likely the OS loaded the dldi.
It looks like the gba files are patched (patched roms are not working).
Can you try some homebrews (from this list that are commented with "Works." http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Gbaemu4ds_Compatibility_List)
thankstesting this now! will report back soon.
Oh, sorry, I didn't know that. I'll be sure not to make that mistake again.
As far as I can figure out though, the reason none of the games are working is because they are patched, or I just seem to be doing something wrong from the list of compatible ROMs. If anyone else has an idea as to why it isn't working, I'd appreciate it.
thanks
Can you try some of the homebrews at the end of the list http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Gbaemu4ds_Compatibility_List (there are links to download the homebrews (they are unpatched)) (of cause homebrews that are marked as working).
Try clicking the actual/manual download link and not ads.Err, I tried to download a couple from the links but when I tried running them it wouldn't let me install it without accepting toolbars and browser edits etc. and I couldn't deny it so I didn't install it. Sorry about that.

Please forgive me for asking what is probably a fairly stupid question, but is there any way to tell how up-to-date the wiki's compatibility list is? I'd really like to play Metroid Fusion on an actual handheld rather than on emulator, but the wiki's list says that the game doesn't work past the title screen. I was just curious if it was possible that some of the entries on the list weren't fully up-to-date or something.
I know. I just have a habit of pointing out flaws in things.I think he ment that he would rather play it on a ds rather than a computer.
Not that this is on topic, but most people call that being a dick / dousche(bag).I know. I just have a habit of pointing out flaws in things.
