Every time I download a rom (or rom hack for that matter) and try to play it the screen gets to CPUInit and it stops and the other screen stays completely white. All roms and rom hacks I've tried so far are .gba and I'm running the latest R4i Gold 3DS Wood Kernel off of r4ids.cn. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

The settings I use are (in order as they appear): (A) for normal, SaveTypeAutomatic, FPS 60/12, (B) for no autovsync (normal),Video Sync Line 150, (A) for Normal Speed, (A) for No MB, And advirqsound for Sound/launcher. did you DLDI Patch hbmenu.nds?
Also heads up you double posted.

This is the version I downloaded, I believe it is the latest one yeah. http://www.mediafire.com/download/00i742a9652cb9q/gbaemu4ds+alpha+2+fix4.zip I tried several combinations of settings, when I tried the one you used I got to IEF: 00030001 but the other screen still stays white. And yeah I know, my internet was lagging and I got a Moderator to delete it. Thanks though.

Try not to use a bios file.

I apologize if this is a noob question, I am new to using an R4i Gold, but how would I go about doing that?

Yes this is the latest Version.
What is on the screen before the IEF: 00030001

So you are not using a GBA bios file?
If you are using a GBA bios file skip the step where you load the gba bios file.

I have found a bug in the BIOS loading so I guessed that this was the cause of this Problem.

Tutorial how to make pat files to increase the the compatibility Is here gbatemp.net/threads/gbaemu4ds-gba-emulator-for-ds-i-dsi-entry.281715/page-84#post-4506808

this is also the nifi test Version

Add: You have to start the client first than the master

Add2: Use creator.exe <path>\gbaemu4DS\hyperspeedup\code_container <path to your SD> to compile the bins exception hbmenu.nds from the src (this zip folder already contains the compiled bins)

I checked what was before the IEF: 00030001 and it had the word BIOS in it so I am assuming I am using a GBA bios file in that case. Here is all of what the screen displays:

Forgot to answer this, I don't believe I did as I just added the files to the SD card. How would I go about patching it?

The nds file had the correct dldi loaded. Most likely the OS loaded the dldi.
It looks like the gba files are patched (patched roms are not working).
Can you try some homebrews (from this list that are commented with "Works." http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Gbaemu4ds_Compatibility_List)

Alright so the dldi is working, and I guess I'd need to find an unpatched rom then?
I downloaded this rom and tried it -REMOVED- using the newirq as recommended on your link and it froze at this:

CPULoadRom...generating file map
(size 262152 Byte)OK
CPUInit
CPUReset
BIOS_RegisterRamReset
dmaCopy
arm7init
irqinit
emulateedboisstart
ndsMode
gbaInit
gbaMode2
jump to (02134000)

and nothing else. Is the problem that that rom is patched as well then?

Oh, sorry, I didn't know that. I'll be sure not to make that mistake again.

As far as I can figure out though, the reason none of the games are working is because they are patched, or I just seem to be doing something wrong from the list of compatible ROMs. If anyone else has an idea as to why it isn't working, I'd appreciate it.

Err, I tried to download a couple from the links but when I tried running them it wouldn't let me install it without accepting toolbars and browser edits etc. and I couldn't deny it so I didn't install it. Sorry about that.

Try clicking the actual/manual download link and not ads.

Please forgive me for asking what is probably a fairly stupid question, but is there any way to tell how up-to-date the wiki's compatibility list is? I'd really like to play Metroid Fusion on an actual handheld rather than on emulator, but the wiki's list says that the game doesn't work past the title screen. I was just curious if it was possible that some of the entries on the list weren't fully up-to-date or something.
I think he ment that he would rather play it on a ds rather than a computer.
I know. I just have a habit of pointing out flaws in things.

Sound works great(100% improvement quality wise) on all tested games however I cannot get the video output from any of the games to work, the screen is just black on both DSi and DS. I havent had time to test lately however, Will testing further tonight.
