GBA SP - 3 AGS 001s, 1 has much better screen

Hello guys, so I have 3 gba sp with me right now, and all of them are the 001 model.
The weird thing is one has a much better screen than the others.
I dont really understand what's going on here.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
2 of them were never opened (the best one and one of the other 2), the other one i replaced its shell today, and i honestly can't recall if it was like this before.

I don't think there's anything to suggest really. A bad screen isn't really "fixable" besides replacing it entirely.

The thing is Im not sure if those are bad screens or in fact just average screens for the 001 (washed out colors like most people say), and the other one is actually above average, since it plays pretty good, have nothing to complain about washed out colors to be honest.

Screen quality can vary from screen to screen, but those do look like average 001 screens.

This reminds me of two of my old SP 001's. The Tribal one had a much better screen than the Cobalt one. Much more colourful with better contrast, like the best pic you posted, yet both were exactly the same model. And from what I remember they were always like this, it's not like the Cobalt got damaged at some point or used more. In fact I used Tribal much more because of the better screen. Whenever I looked at other people's 001 they were like my Cobalt, so I knew there was nothing wrong with it. I never opened them up so I don't know if the LCD's were different. Maybe someone who's cracked open a few 001's could say if they've ever come across different screens in them. I sold them both and kept my 101, but I actually regret selling that Tribal as it seems something of an anomaly to get such a good 001 screen that is somewhere between a regular 001 and a 101.

Exactly, it's actually amazing to play on this 001, I just don't understand if its a matter of different screens between the 001's or something else. I need to find out what's going on here, cause i wanted 2 good 001's (i had the best one, and the one with the cracked screen at the bottom), so i bought another one. And now I can't be satisfied with it since the image quality is so different from my best one. Maybe the 001's had a screen improvement throught their lifespan. The bad models are the black and red ones, and the best one is a Mario red and silver. (All european models). Is there someone that can confirm such thing ?

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing on my two SP 001s. One seems to have a better color contrast, not as white.

Sadly, I got the better one for my girlfriend
