Does UK copies just not have the effect or is this an indication of a fake?

I am not sure about that EU copy, that Nintendo Seal of Approval seal looks fake as shit.

Maybe I just cant see it well enough. The Ebay seller has 100% positive feedback so thats good.

I actually believe I can see the foil effect. As for the seal, it's fine. @BORTZ is probably used to the American (oval) seal.

That's what it is, yeah. I was just looking that up as you posted it. I was unaware there was a circular seal.

That difference actually evokes a painful memory from my childhood I'm from Portugal, and bought Pokémon Stadium 2 during a trip to Boston, back in 2001. The game wasn't out in Europe yet (and most definitely not in Portugal, since official EU release dates were rarely met back in the day, something to do with local distributors getting the stuff on that day, and only spreading it through the country afterwards), so I was ecstatic. Fast-forward a few days, and my 8-year-old self is almost crying in disappointment at the discovery of region locks and over-analyzing the cartridge wondering "What the hell is so different?", the oval seal, the ESRB rating and the different indentations in the cartridge being the only differences I actually noticed. This was almost 17 years ago, so you see how bad it got burned into my memory
