Been using mGBA on my old 3ds and the speed is a little slow, is this the best it gets for now or is there any better out there

pretty much the best you have for now on Old3DS unfortunately. they might get better in the future, especially because of some things *hax 2.5 did.

Use retroarch until mgba implements dynarec.

You're 9.2?
If you don't mind the effort, injecting gba roms into VC cia's will probably achieve better results with gba games than retroarch for you.

yeah most run at full speed or really close
