That's the problem, everyone wants to "share information" but that doesn't mean starting a new thread to get attention so you feel as if you got a pat on the back. Nor do you have the excuse of being a noob/not knowing GBATemp rules as you've been here since 07 as a lurker. You posted the exact minute GW updated their page (page monitor told me) so you obviously wanted to be "the first" to post it. I'm not being mean but if u post outside of where you are supposed to it encourages more people to post outside of the GW news thread which there already is an overflow of which is goddamn annoying at this point.

You need a life bro

I'm returning my Gateway if the FW doesn't come out within a week. I'll rebuy when the price drops and MR is actually supported. Or I will buy a dirt cheap clone. What I'm not going to do is sit here WAITING to use it. Without multirom, the cart is virtually useless. I get sick and tired of games within minutes.
play demos :D

Neither the clones can run multiple roms yet (GW release dependant), and MT does not run >4.5 games, making the multirom feature kinda useless.
So what's the point returning your Gateway?

What an amazing comment. If you're being serious... here's a protip: Don't buy gen 1 hardware then, and maybe find a new hobby...

thanks for making a new thread, the other two threads were getting kind of old. just think, this thread will probably have 50 pages before the night is done.

How about this you guys. There is no need to create new threads unless significant information is brought to the tables. Dupe threads are not encouraged and usually end up locked. Why? There are already huge influxes of threads that have the same information and the purpose of these stickied threads is to contain this information in one location. While you might find it helpful to broadcast your findings, it actually hinders the staff in being able to do their job because it creates more bloat to deal with. ;) And they're already overtaxed as is. If and when something comes out you will see a news flash on the front page from me or someone actively following it with a topic to freely discuss it.

Man sorry. I know personally I dont have the time to sift through 1400+ replies that the original thread had. I was just excited to see the news when I received the email and figured Id share the news that pokemon wasnt far off. Gateway for whatever reason emails me a lot but from now on Ill just keep it to myself if its that much of a bother

You don't necessarily have to keep it to yourself. Information is always nice to have, but there are lots of locations for that. That's mainly what the threads are for. ;) It's not to punish you or anything, we know that you and everyone else (me included!) are excited about the newest developments, but all we are saying is that you can still actively participate and get your point across. :) I've seen a lot of threads like this, but the thing is they usually end up locked because of the above reason.

Then why do you play games at all? Even if you have five of them, that's only going to give you about fifteen minutes of play before you're "sick of them."

Well it's true, it's within the return period. Why not save $20-$30? I've spent several hundred on flashcarts, and memory over the years. I'm tired of looking back on those purchases and feeling stupid for overspending.

If multi-rom is the most important feature to you, I can give you a good reason why not: that may not become available to the clone carts due to the differences in hardware compatibility. The difference is $40 at most anyway. What you're really complaining about is the fact that you're impatient. We can't help you there. And if you're really chomping at the bit for updates, the fact that you have to wait an extra week or two after each GW firmware release to get those same updates on a clone is not something I see going over well with you.

Im excite Pokemon was one of the main reasons I got 3DS, but I wanted to beat all the games I could before I messed anything up by updating nands and such to play retail or rom.

I don't really play games, my interest is in critiquing them. Rarely do I ever get take playing the game with much seriousness. I just don't see the value in that, it doesn't accomplish anything in the grand scheme of things.

I'm gonna leave this here:

Where is my techno music ?
Usually the GW videos had awesome music on them.
*disappointed*

The triumphant return of Red Nail-Polish Girl makes the bad music tolerable.

Can't believe some question the necessity of a new thread for new news. The first video of a flashcard playing Pokemon X/Y is pretty big news. I don't really care as I have the game but I lot of others do I'm sure.

You don't have to explain the basic rumors regarding clones. I think you're capable of understanding that I will buy a clone if they end up supporting all of the same features, and if not then it's another Gateway at a reduced price. Or MT card. Point is, I will have options again. And that $40 is half the cost, you act as if it means nothing. I don't enjoy overspending, and look back on overspending with regret, no matter what the purchase is.

If I was "impatient", then why would I be open to returning the cartridge, and missing out when the firmware does launch, as well as wait for the price to drop or a better product to come along. You've got it backwards, I DO have the patience to wait, and if I did save the $40 you estimate, that's still roughly 50% of the price of the Gateway. Everyone acts like Gateway is such an awesome "team" (most likely some guy in a basement). I can't recall a "team" that has taken so long between updates and left its customers hanging. And never have I seen a backup device that did not support multi boot.

You should see the first methods of back up device that came when the DS was just hacked. It was even more tedious than what u have by a long shot.
