Ok I'm now on 2.1. But now what? Nothing happens at the bootscreen I tried to press L.
Ohye this is for the new3ds. I have entered the site but it doesn't recognize.

Oh nvm you must type https://.

I hope you're not using "Gateway fast boot" a9lh method.
If you are, I hope you have a hardmod.
Unless you like bricks :-)

Dude you know he can recover from bricks, uninstall Gateway's a9lh, and install another one without downgrading, right?

And he can do all this, without the red card. It literally makes no difference whether he has it or not besides actually accessing the CFW. So no, his console isn't useless if he ever loses his red card or it breaks.
