I hope you're not using "Gateway fast boot" a9lh method.
If you are, I hope you have a hardmod.

That's a shame, now if your red card gets lost your console is useless, and you don't have access to decrypt9, emuNAND9, etc...

Not a chance I got my card for years same as my Supercard DS Two for more then 5years.

Dude you know he can recover from bricks, uninstall Gateway's a9lh, and install another one without downgrading, right?

And he can do all this, without the red card. It literally makes no difference whether he has it or not besides actually accessing the CFW. So no, his console isn't useless if he ever loses his red card or it breaks.
