Hacking Gateway Downgrading

I find this really interesting how a console that shipped with higher then 4.5 firmware can downgrade to 4.5

A member with same console but on NTSC-U confirmed that in the first few pages of this topic

Just for some fun, I borrowed my buddy's 3DS XL. Downgraded to 4.2 no problem, currently installing some CIA's and using the DS Profile Exploit.

Does downgrading remove eShop content?

Only from your sysnand, but you can still acces it on emunand.

I don't think you will. Everything seems to be intact (Activity log etc).

use the downgrade to get to 4.5 and attempt using the upgrader for that. dont come to me if it bricks though when you try, nobody is replying because we dont know

No too risky unless you have a hardmod!!! do not restore the cfw to you sysnand! But instead use your own 4.x dump to boot into cfw it work like emunand

If I unlink my emunand and sysnand, will i be able to play eshop games on my emunand?

I'm asking because then i can unlink then downgrade, and my eshop games and saves should still be present (in emunand)?

I'm gonna try this later tonight with steel diver sub wars. first i download (on emunand), then i downgrade, and see if it's still there....

Black 3DS XL 9.2 and my Aqua Blue 3DS 9.2 both downgraded to 4.2 just fine. Thanks Gateway!

For anyone having problems running the DS Profile exploit. Are you even installing the 3.1 exploit via Blue Card before even trying to run the DS Profile Exploit? Works fine for me.

First I need to use the new 3.0.1 launcher dat?
Second will anything from my sd card be affected like saves or emunand?
And last what about NNID and the emunand ability to go into eshop?

Successfully downgraded my 9.2u xl to 4.2, no issues what so ever. My 9.4 emunand and everything along with it were still in tact and fully functioning. Thanks Gateway!
