(Its just an idea, dont bash me please)

From what I understand, there's a separate GC mode that ONLY gets booted up when a GC disc is inserted. So, I think to access the GC menu which is what's used for homebrew on the GC, a fake GC game needs to be booted up or a fake(emulated) memory card.

If a memory card is loaded up, couldnt the exploit that was previously installed to be used for the GC work? Or, something like bannerbomb that just triggers GC homebrew, and from there, load up GCOS or something. Because some of the newer Wiis have a different chipset, a usb loader would have to be required.

If a 'fake' GC game is loaded up, its the same general principle as GCOS. I suppose just change this into a channel for those that cannot swap discs (from what I've read, the Wii can't do that anyways)

After seeing this, i believe it is very much possible. You just need to trick the Wii in GC Mode that there is not a USB device plugged in when in reality there is one. I think this is possible via a custom adapter is made.

(If any of this sounds far-fetched let me know)

That's the part where I'm stuck at...the SD Media launcher with a four circuit outlet to allow a firewire to connect a USB HD might work but...
---

These are just my thoughts, I know they're really amateurish, but I want to make this a possibility by any means. I have very limited knowledge, so I was hoping that people could just pool in their ideas here...
In regards to my background, I have taken computer science course and have marks. I have knowledge in HTML, Java, VB, and Turing, but I mostly write pseudocode. If there's a way I can read more into this then, I'd like some resources please (tutorials, etc)

Are you planning on coding this up? If not then dont bother suggesting (no offense). Crediar already has a solution.

Please dont patronize me.

@ EseHomes-None taken. I'm too new at this to spearhead this project myself but I was just throwing ideas out there. Is Crediar's work found in the 'DIOS MIOS' thread? If so, then I had read that he said it still wasn't possible.

DIOS MIOS FAQ

Unless I'm misreading this..

isn't that the one that isn't being released, though? having a solution is all well and good but if he's not talking then the rest of us would still have to figure it out for ourselves, no?

he never positively said that he wont release it. If anything, he stated that he would release some (if not all) code in gplv2. With that alone we know all the other minor coders out there will do some cool stuff with it.

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
