I think its possible to make a Starcraft DS homebrew pretty good, if you've messed with Starcraft Modding, you'd know that all the sounds files are pretty much stored as .wavs and the graphics of all the units/UI can be ripped, not sure about the tiles or icons though.

Anyone wanna get together a homebrew team to do that?

EDIT:
Checking right now, the tiles are there too.

And by the way, Starcraft doesn't use 3D models, its actually individual sprites

Dungeon keeper.

I recently started playing the PC games again.
Such addicting gameplay.

Seems perfect for a homebrew DS game! I wish I knew how to program and stuff though. And what about online play?

You could always learn

I don't know much about that for DS homebrew, only way I can think of it is to have a server process all the information and send stuff back to the DS across the internet?

Wasn't there already a DS Starcraft homebrew called StarLite? It got pretty big and the developers were sent a cease and desist letter from Blizzard. So if you guys are actually going to do it, better keep it on the down low. Good luck though, I'm addicted to Starcraft.

I would love to try making a Starcraft port, but I'm not very motivated. If someone gets together a team I'd join. We could always change the name of it and stuff. Or it might actually be possible to make it require a Starcraft install to generate a working NDS file.

Another though I have is if the DS has enough RAM to load all the necessary pictures and sounds.
I haven't messed with it so I wouldn't know, just a thought.

Try posting the topic in the Rom Hacking and Development thread, maybe some other people there want to be part of a project like that.

I would like to see Elastomania/Bike or Die ported to the DS.

Its pretty much a mix between N and Line Rider. Perfect for portable gaming.
